Officials confirmed that Tanvir, Ahmed Shahzed, Sohail Khan, Javed Qadeer, who have all played for the national team, and Tanveer Ahmed and Nadeem Sheikh have been banned from playing any matches at the famous Karachi Gymkhana ground. "The players were reported by umpires, Riazuddin and Junaid Ghafoor for ball tampering, abusing the umpires and showing dissent over decisions in a match of the KG Ramazan festival quarter finals on Tuesday," one official said. Officials confirmed Wednesday that Tanvir, Ahmad Shahzed, Sohail Khan and Javed Qadeer, who have all played for the national team, alongside Tanveer Ahmed and Nadeem Sheikh had been banned from playing any matches at the famous Karachi Gymkhana Ground. “The players were reported by umpires Riazuddin and Junaid Ghafoor for ball tampering, abusing the field umpires and showing dissent over decisions in a match of the KG Ramazan Festival quarter finals on Tuesday,†one official said. Test umpire Riazuddin said he was forced to report the matter to the organisers after things got out of hand in the match. “The players were misbehaving a lot, using abusive language and some of them were spotted trying to scuff the ball,†he said. In the Ramzan tournaments, a player can appear for different teams in different tournaments and a minimum of three guest players are allowed in every team. This is not the first time that Pakistan cricketers are involved in indiscipline. Test players Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Asif, Imran Nazir, Inazmamul Haq and Shahid Afridi all had been involved in some kind of indiscipline and misconduct for which they were banned and fined.
