More competitiveness! even i dont (even though i prefer the other Super 8 system).but i am more worried about minnows being there.like Shane said there r gonna be some one sided boring games n a World cup doesnt need that

These lads don't get to play as many games as they do right now. But having said that ICC is doing their best to get them enrolled in International scene it is upto the respective nations to ensure their development is exponential and not going down the spiral. Off topic: Fifa World Cup 2006 did witness dull and one sided games against the minnows but there were some countries like Australia who stepped up to the challenge and gave it right back whatever was thrown at them. Australia were this close in kicking out Italy out of the world cup. Australia would have rued the penalty they gave away in injury time only for Italy to go through. Italy were 1 man down (Materrazi was red carded) and I think Socceroos would have gone through had the game been extended to extra time. Having said that Fifa's WC qualification is very vigorous and the teams (no matter who it is) are made to grind out to book their place in the WC. Right now Portugal and Argentina are struggling to book their place. Imagine a world cup where the Top 2 players (Ronaldo and Messi) will be missing the biggest sporting event if their teams don't qualify.

But then again guys, what if the Best Team looses in the Semis, to somone's brilliance, thats what makes knockout's so endearing, no one can predict the outcome, the form book goes out of the window, I was never a fan of the Super Sixes/Eights, somewhere the WC seemed to loose its charm.

Knockouts will ensure upsets but it will also tend to bring our the best in your team. If our team is not geared up for Quarters, do you think we will advance from semis to finals ?

If the day is so bad that you can lose to a minnow, you simply don't deserve to win the cup. One can not hide behind bad days. Every sports event is like that. You have a bad day, you get knocked out. Cricket is no different. In a tournament like the WC, you don't get multiple chances to cancel out luck. but u shud,atleat in group stages.every team deserves a fair enuf chance.one might lose to a minnow but beat 2 top teams,so doesnt that team deserve the chance to win the cup?n does the minnow deserve to go thru?does he have any realistic shot at winning the cup?if not then wont it lower the quality of cricket. u would have to play really badly to lose to a minnow but a top team can beat u despite u playing decently,so ultimately the quality of cricket will be more.the crowds will be more as they will expect a better contest

We had a relatively easier opponent in Kenya during our semi final match in WC 03
