Dinx - the Jinx Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 In Dilli style fast food, you can have Allo ki chaat, papdi(or as some peopel call papdi chaat), Gol Gappe(pani puri in some other places), Pav Bhaji, Aloo ki tikk, Chilra, etc. Don't forget to eat Sitaram's Chole Bhature. Best in India. Though best gol gappe waala in India happens to be in Chandigarh. He has 18 different kinds of paani for gol gappe. For Non Veg- Go to Khan Market in Delhi. Thats the most famous. and don't forget Kareems thanks man :two_thumbs_up: will try to go for it... tell me where i can get best of pans..

Desi Cartman Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 About Nazukness : I used to tell my brother the same thing till few a years ago. Its funny that for the first few years your immune system isnt any different but as more years pass by it gets worse and worse. I remember last year I was standing in the toilet confused to puke or shyt first. It was awful last year but it doesnt mean that it'll happen again. So dilli here I come :yay: As for the bestest food in dilli: Try pandara road (Gulati's or Pindi) for awesome mughlai food, Chankayapuri - Malcha marg for good Chinese food. Cholay Bhaturaay from lajpaat nagar , bon bon ki pastry and patties (new friends colony), Kareem's :woot:
ViruRulez Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 You guys have some sick delicate body if you fall sick so easily,. Delhi food is so mast and best in Idia. I second that. Especially the local veg cuisine in Delhi is the best and the most diverse in India. Just the paneer cuisine ranges from Shahi Paneer, Kadai Paneer, Palak Paneer to a whole range of other paneer dishes. The fast food is also awesome and there are fast food chains including Agarwal, Sitaram, Bikaner's and many else. Add to that the street foods like tikka, gol gappe, papdi, chat etc. And for non-veg there is CP and Old Delhi and Kareems. The food range in Delhi is one of the best for sure. I agree that is not the healthiest of food with lot of oils and masala and not for the delicate body wallas. :--D
ViruRulez Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 thanks man :two_thumbs_up: will try to go for it... tell me where i can get best of pans.. what do you mean by pans... pan pizza or something else :dontknow: and if you are saying about pans (betel leaf) then it is a Bengali dessert not a Delhi one.. and the best Bengali locality in Delhi is Chittaranjan Park in South Delhi.. anyways you will get paan in any pan cum sutta shop in Delhi
Desi Cartman Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Best Pan in delhi is in the South Ex market - corner shop .. cant remember the name
Gambit Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 I'll be visiting Dilli in a couple of months' date=' for the first time. i really want to taste the really delhi khana.. suggegstions please[/quote'] If you are a non-vegetarian, I would recommend you visit the famous Karim's in Nizamuddin(the original is in Chandni Chowk). Other good mughlai restaurants are Gulati's/Have More in Pandara Market(next to India Gate) and Khan Chacha/Aap ki khatir(both in Khan Market) for terrific tikkas and kathi rolls. There are other places as well but since you seem to be a 'Peter' (Chennaites might know what that is), I won't recommend them to you. :winky: If you're a vegetarian, you :fail: in life. J/K. :D If you are vegetarian and since you're coming from Bangalore, I don't think you'd crave South Indian Food. You can get terrific Channa/Baturas in Nathu's Bengali Market(close to CP), terrific Parathas in Not Just Parathas and Chaat/Gol Gappas etc in Haldiram's.

Ram Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 The first time I went home after an extended stay outside, I developed a terrible stomach ailment after a couple of weeks. Essentially, anything went in, seamlessly (hint hint) came out. But thinking back, we had had a some terrible flooding at that time and all the roads and by-lanes were clogged with water. And one-day, I foolishly insisted on wading in knee-deep water to a nearby chaat-store to eat some spicy chaat. In hindsight, I suppose that wasn’t a very wise decision. :D
Malcolm Merlyn Posted November 6, 2009 Posted November 6, 2009 Delhi ka DADDY hai Punjab. Kabhi Patiala aao..aur butter chicken khao. :eyedance: u talk about the place u live not about patiala..........

Even in Delhi some of the best chickens are made by Punjabi. I will perhaps visit inner towns in Punjab once just to taste the food. I heard a lot about it. :eating:
