Okay.. how many times our tail has saved us On top of my memory 1) Kumble & Srinath once won a match for us in Bangalore against OZ or SA (not sure) 2) Zaheer & Mural karthiki won a match against OZ at Mumbai. India was 64 for 6 Notable Mention: http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/217116.html INdia was struggling at 44 for 8 against the onslaught of Bond. Irfan walked in at no.10 and made a superb 50.

That was against Aus and they made 52 runs perhaps. But the RRR was not that high and merely a run a ball almost. The most terrific save would have been in the first match if Bhajji and PK would have been able to pull the win off as it was a whooping 10+ RPO in that match.

Just seeing the scorecard, what a batting lineup NZ had Mcullum at 9, Vettori at 10 and Andre Adams(decent hitter) at 11 wth This is called a batting lineup devoid of tailenders EDIT: India almost had a similar lineup (but at time, Harbhajan was a real tailender)
India had them on the mat at 36 for 5. Pathan and Nehra did a good job upfront. As usual our Garbage singh and Magarkar leaked runs left and right.

http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/64562.html This was the best match for those times, because India never believed that they could win a match in Pak before that. Chauhan hoisting Saqlain for a six is still etched in my mind. From CI: * Pakistan innings was closed at 47.2 overs. India restricted to 47 overs, to make the same target. Crowd trouble (4 times) and delay due to third umpiring decisions, and an injury on field resulted in heavy loss of time, and poor over rate. The 4th crowd disruption made the Indian team to walk out, at which stage the innings was closed. "

Look at our bowling lineup there Kuruvilla, Mohanty, Chauhan and Kulkarni :haha: And they say why couldn't Sachin succeed as a captain!!

--Agarkar's 50 off 21 balls that propelled us to a decent score against Zimbabwe. Till then, we were meandering along aimlessly. When Zim chased, they fell short only by a handful of runs. In short, that day, Agarkar's rearguard innings was the difference between the two teams. --Agarkar again, this time against Sri Lanka at Sharjah I think. I forget the exact details of the match, but i think Lanka scored something like 230 after batting first. Our chase was in all sorts of trouble with all our front-line batsmen being dismissed. Only Robin Singh was left and when Aggy joined him, we needed something like 40 off 4 overs and Aggy's innings won it for us.
