sure,ICC has taken a decision, but it may not unanimous.BCCI may not be happy with it.they would have taken it up in board meeting but clearly got snubbed.so they r refusing to use it until they r convinced about it.
This is what I am saying , BCCI has no rights to flout the rules which are passed by ICC. Its akin to say 'I dont like the law which is passed by parliament , so I dont follow it'. ICC has taken a decision because majority of members agreed to it, so one of the member simply cannot refuse to follow the rule.
it isnt mandatory, otherwise BCCI had no option but to enforce it n to suggest that cost may be n issue with the richest board is laughable, its gotta be something else
Well..It is laughable but it is truth. ICC has no teeth to enforce its decisions on its most powerful member. Even South africa cricket board was not interested in DRS but ICC put pressure on SA so they are being compelled to embrace the system.

Is the BCCI waiting for a couple of horror decisions going against us before saying yes to the use of DRS. For all its failings, DRS does have the potential of negating the overall impact jokers like Ashoka Desilva, Billy Doctrove and our very own Saheba, can have on matches being played by our team.

Guest Hiten.

Australia could've been bowled out for less than 100, had TWO horror decision gone against Pak's favor. Clarke and North were given out when the ball was going over the stumps by quite a distance. De Silva and Doctrove were the guilty party.

Yuvi practices but still not certain The team management remained mum on whether Yuvraj Singh would be available for India-Sri Lanka tri-series match. More... Monday 4th January 2010 Yuvi practices but still not certain The team management remained mum on whether Yuvraj Singh would be available for India-Sri Lanka tri-series match. However, fit again after recovering from a finger injury, the dashing left-hander sweated it out at the nets. Yuvraj batted for quite a while at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium nets on Monday morning when the team had a two-hour long optional practice session. The middle-order mainstay, who sat out of four one-dayers of the home series against Sri Lanka last month, faced direct throws from coach Gary Kirsten and he did not have any apparent problems while wielding the willow. He later bowled to Rohit Sharma but looked slightly guarded during the fielding practice. The team's Administrative manager Arshad Ayub refused to comment when asked whether the explosive batsman will be available on Tuesday. "I can't say anything," was all Ayub said when asked whether Yuvraj will play on Tuesday. Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kirsten did not speak to the waiting media. Meanwhile, pacer S Sreesanth has recovered from swine flu which prevented him from participating in the ODI series against Sri Lanka and he was in full flow at the nets on Monday. He bowled to Gautam Gambhir, Rohit Sharma and other Indian batsmen and also did some catching practice with mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton. All through the session, he was in his usual jovial mood. Off-spinner Harbhajan Singh decided to stay put at the team hotel while dashing batsman Virender Sehwag didn't practice too much either. Ayub said there was no cause of concern on Harbhajan and since it was an optional practice, he decided to stay back at the hotel. Other batsmen who had long batting sessions include Gambhir, comeback man Rohit Sharma and wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik. Promising youngster Virat Kohli and spinner Amit Mishra did some catching practice with Upton. In the absence of a bowling coach, senior pacer Zaheer Khan played the mentor's role to youngsters Ashok Dinda and Sudeep Tyagi.

He can also opt out and get ready for Tests unless he wants some practice against their spinners. SL has done the right thing by sending young and fresh unit.
Agree, he should be looking to cement his place in the Test team, by helping his average out against Bangla. Rest through the ODI tourney and get fully fit

They are waiting for desi_cartman to lodge a protest rally. He will do so after our very own Saheba gives a faltu decision! Our senior players and captain are at fault here for not advocating strongly for the DRS.

Saheba standing in international Test matches was the best news I heard last years :crazy4:. This means that he wont be standing in as many ODIs involving India as he'll be busy screwing other teams in the test matches... and to make it better he cant be an umpire in a test match involving India .. this is = Jannat :--D

Injured Dilshan likely to miss match against India In-form Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan is almost certain to miss Tuesday's match against India after he suffered a groin injury during the tri-series opener against hosts Bangladesh in Mirpur on Monday. More... Injured Dilshan likely to miss match against India January 05, 2010 09:36 IST In-form Sri Lankan opening batsman Tillakaratne Dilshan is almost certain to miss Tuesday's match against India after he suffered a groin injury during the tri-series opener against hosts Bangladesh in Mirpur on Monday. Dilshan, who masterminded his side to a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh with a 122-ball 104 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, suffered a groin injury during the 34th over of the Sri Lankan innings and he is unlikely to play against India on Tuesday. "Dilshan has pulled a muscle in the groin region. We are hoping that he will be able to play at some point in the tournament," Sangakkara, who came out as runner in the 35th over for Dilshan, said after the match. Going on from where he left off in India, Dishan played through the pain and scored his third century in six matches. The Lankan lions will hope to avenge their recent series loss by getting the better of India on Tuesday.

Dilshan steers Sri Lanka home Dilshan steers Sri Lanka home Tillakaratne Dilshan hit a superb century as Sri Lanka coasted to a seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in the opening match of the tri-series in Dhaka. Bangladesh, invited to bat first, were bolstered by a 75 from former captain Mohammad Ashraful, while useful knocks from Mohammad Mahmudullah (45), Tamim Iqbal (40) and Mushfiqur Rahim (35) helped the home side finish with a decent 260 for seven. Dilshan, however, made short work of the target, the opening batsman hitting 104 and putting on a century stand for the second wicket with Kumar Sangakkara (74) as the visitors overhauled the target with 5.1 overs to spare. Openers Imrul Kayes and Iqbal had given Bangladesh a brisk start, although they were more courageous than convincing with their strokeplay. Kayes gave his side the initial push, but Sri Lanka's bowlers - wayward at the start - tightened their line and stemmed the runs. Iqbal, who was dropped on 11 by Nuwan Kulasekara off his own bowling, cut loose by clubbing Chanaka Welegedera for four boundaries in an over - three of them coming after he was struck on the helmet by a bouncer from the left-arm paceman. Kulasekara produced the first breakthrough, luring Kayes into a pull shot which the batsman mistimed and top-edged to Thilan Samaraweera at fine leg. Dilshan then removed Iqbal in the next over and Suranga Lakmal further undermined Bangladesh's progress by extracting Raqibul Hasan - caught brilliantly by Samaraweera at slip - and captain Shakib Al Hasan in his first spell. From 65 for no loss the home side had slipped to 74 for four when former captain Ashraful and Rahim came together, the duo arresting the slide with a 58-run stand for the fifth wicket. Off-spinner Suraj Randiv broke that partnership by trapping Rahim in front as he attempted to sweep, but Ashraful forged a 95-run stand with Mahmudullah which helped lift Bangladesh's score beyond the 200-run mark. All the action as it unfolded Sri Lanka's openers began their reply with a flurry of boundaries, but Bangladesh secured early success when Rubel Hossain snared Upul Tharanga in the fourth over. There was no respite, however, as Dilshan and Sangakkara flayed the bowlers around the park. Debutant Shafiul Islam, who was handed the new ball, leaked 25 runs from his first three overs forcing the Bangladesh skipper to opt for spin inside the first powerplay. The move helped only briefly and although Bangladesh delayed the bowling powerplay considerably, Dilshan and Sangakkara found the boundaries easily as they closed in on the target. Both batsmen reached their 50s within a couple of deliveries of each other and had moved onto add 148 for the second wicket when Sangakkara steered a rising delivery from Shafiul straight to wicketkeeper Rahim. Dilshan, however, continued the chase and, although hampered severely by a thigh injury, went on to raise his sixth ODI century off 119 deliveries. He fell soon after, but Samaraweera (41 not out) ensured victory. Mahela Jayawardena arrives in Bangaladesh Sri Lanka have called up Mahela Jayawardene to boost their injury-hit squad midway through the tri-series in Bangladesh. The team has lost the services of three men on this tour: Tillakaratne Dilshan picked up a groin injury during the first game against Bangladesh, Chamara Silva fractured his thumb during training, and Muthumudalige Pushpakumara injured his shoulder in the game against India. In addition to Jayawardene, Sri Lanka have called up the 20-year old uncapped wicketkeeper Dinesh Chandimal and the opener Mahela Udawatte, 23, who has played nine ODIs.
