Mr. Wicket
Warne in India: 9 tests, 34 wickets @ 43.11, s/r 81 Murali in India: 9 tests, 34 wickets @ 42.58, s/r 85.9 What are the odds that by the end of the series, Murali's regularly-ignored/glossed over record in India will be worse than Warne's much maligned record there? Ram
That’s two of the leading spinners of all time, having a really tough time in India. Quite telling that. I suppose that makes Saqlain Mushtaq’s record (24 wickets at an average of 21) against us in India very impressive Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
It is interesting though that Warne's critics mainly point to his numbers in India when putting him down a few pegs in comparison to Murali. But there is very little to pick apart between their records! Link to comment

Chalks
In b4 Aussies once again go on about Murali taking most of his wickets against BD and Zim. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Saqlain in his prime was lethal Yes, except that his 'prime' periods didn't last that long. Flickered and went out, unlike Warne, Kumble and Murali who had the longevity to match their skills. A shame, as he was a genius. Link to comment
Chalks
I can't decide between Saqlain and Abdul Qadir in an all-time Pakistan XI (1980-). :hmmm: (Imran, Wasim and Waqar pretty much pick themselves.) Maybe Saqlain is an example of the star that burns twice as bright burning half as long. Certainly at his peak he was a magician. Or maybe he tried bowling the doosra too many times (esp. against Langer and Gilchrist at Hobart in 99) that he became predictable. Off topic, tomorrow is the 10th anniversary of the last day of that famous match. Amazing how quickly time flies. With Warne, it's quite incredible to think that compared with his mediocre record against India, he really owned Pakistan. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Saqlain was a far better bowler than Qadir, IMNSHO. Qadir did not have the control over length and line that Saqlain possessed, nor the level of thought to outwit batsmen. Link to comment
99.94
Murali also has a pretty poor record in Australia.. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
You are being very kind there. Murali has a god-awful record in Australia. Link to comment
Celeste
Only Saqlain Mushtaq have troubled the Indians in India. Link to comment

Mr. Wicket
Murali in India right now: 36 wickets in 11 games, average of 47.13, s/r of 89. Epic ****ing fail! :hysterical: Link to comment
Sachinism
Murali has been treated like a b!tch, they've not only got out to him, they've taken him for a ridiculous amount of runs Link to comment
