Gambit
What happened was no doubt because of failure of multiple govt agencies. We still lack a cohesive counter terrorism strategy. It was a very sad day but I am sick of the insipid television/print/radio coverage. Such blockhead RJs/anchors indulging in needless govt bashing. Most are citing the example of the US who haven't had another domestic incident since 9/11. Yes, that's commendable but look at their geographical location and compare it with ours. We're surrounded by fricken snakes and scorpions and all they've got to deal with are people swimming across from Cuba, hookers from Mexico and Polar Bears from Canada. Our media simply has to pick themselves up from the gutter they are in and start sobering up quickly. This article from Vir Sanghvi sums up how their immaturity led to causalities last year - First of all, did television channels behave in a manner that endangered the lives of hostages and commandos? The answer has to be yes. I can quote three instances. Terrorists found out that guests were hiding out in the Chambers at the Taj on the night of the 26th when their Pakistani controllers told them that TV had carried the news. The TV channels appear to have discovered this when a politician who was at the Chambers gave a phone interview to the media. http://www.hindustantimes.com/What-lessons-have-we-learnt-from-26-11/H1-Article3-480230.aspx
Rajiv
Well said Gambit, you must be seeing this all over the news. In a way, its kinda of easy to gulp it down here when no one is talking about it much but you cannot eliminate the pain A Query for the rest on this occasion, you feel joyful on every occasion the enemy gets attacked or you don't care and just need bitter vengeance on the perpetrators
