EnterTheVoid Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 1st innings is an aberration, I don't expect Pakistan to capitalize on the first innings collapse. For them to have a chance of winning this test, they need a lead of some 100 runs, minimum. Granted, there is plenty of time but do you see their shytty batting surviving on this green sponge of a wicket ? Australian bowlers, in swinging conditions, are amongst the best in the business, poyzzz don't stand a chance. Your predictions please.
DomainK Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Pakistan sure has an edge now, but I won't still write off the Aussies. They are very professional cricketers and they would already be chalking out a plan and will execute it with ruthless perfection. Pakistan's batting- especially in Australia is very bad. They are an unstable lot and they lack cohesion, professionalism and skill. Australia can come back into this match in a big way. However, if this pitch eases up now, Pakistan has a great opportunity of doing the impossible.
yoda Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Don't you know? We have a new Powerhouse in town. :hysterical:
Clarke Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Australia still the favs by me .. will come out firing on all cylinders tomorrow. Pakistan have 2 wicket taking seamers in Asif & Sami, Australia have 4 against this batting line up. That is going to matter in the next 2-3 days.
rainy day Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I actually expect Pakistan will take a lead of about 120-130, Australia will comeback strongly in the 2nd Inngs and get 350+ giving Pakistan a target of 200+ in the 4th Inngs and like has happened plenty of times in the last year we'll collapse. Hopefully not though.

DK, Pakistan had a chance of winning in the previous half a dozen odd tests they played only to end up CHOKING when it really mattered. Remembered the series loss to Lanka only a handful of months ago ? If they collapse of flat, patta wickets, what hope do they have on seaming, bowler friendly wickets ? Forgot doing it against a top team, they CHOKED against a bunch of part timers. Remember, it was only in the last test, people were harbouring hopes of miracle, claiming that Pakistan could score 250 in the last day and take an unlikely lead. The match was done, dusted and buried by lunchtime. The same will happen in this test.
EnterTheVoid Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 Let me give you an analogy to put things in perspective: On this wicket, Pakistan looked as threatening against Australia as Ireland looked against Pakistan in the 2007 WC. 'Powerhouse bowling' indeed!

You look so sure... hmmm In the last test pakistan needed a miracle, here pak has aleady done the miracle, now australia need a miracle to win the math... so opposite situations, not the same!!!!!!

Pakistan has performed a miracle ? Good grief, what kind of shyt 'bottom of the barrel' standards do you compare your 'powerhouse bowling' to ? Dumbo, take off your green tinted glasses for a second and you will realize, you were bowling in perfect bowling conditions. If your phaaaaast bowlers couldn't take advantage of cloudy conditions on a seaming wicket, than they might as well take up finger painting and start playing with Barbie dolls. Start praying you don't lose your 11th test in a row. Better start early, because I am sure your esteemed team will majorly c.o.ck up tomorrow.
King Tendulkar Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Pakistan are surely going to win this. After skittling the aussies out , no team in the world can lose from here. Congrats pakistan on a great win. :two_thumbs_up:

According to you scoing 250 on the last day with 7 wicket in hand on a good batting suface would have been a miracle, so yes bowling australia out or 127 in the first innings of a test match is a miracle....

Hopefully not though. Pak seem unlikely to score 200+ in first innings. They will probably manage a lead of ~80 runs. And OZ wont get 300+ in 2nd innings. This match will be low scoring one and Pakis might be chasing 150-180 in 4th innings.
EnterTheVoid Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 According to you scoing 250 on the last day with 7 wicket in hand on a good batting suface would have been a miracle Yes, CHOKING from 170 odd for 3 to 250 odd on a patta wicket is a miracle indded. Some insights on your 'powerhouse batting' please So yes bowling australia out or 127 in the first innings of a test match is a miracle.... Bah, some miracle, my @.r.$e. I would back Ireland to do the same and I would have no doubt that they will succeed because they already did it once, against you. Are you over that victory yet ? :sniffle:

If it comes down to that say, do you think Pakistan can sucessfully chase it, bearing in mind their chronic collapses ? They have talent, no doubt, but that is not going to translate into results overnight.

In the dacade australia have scored under 200 in th fist innings of a test match only 3 times.... one is a 190 agaisnt england... So indeed it' s a brilliant performance....

Spare me the statistical mumbo - jumbo, they mean shyt when your results don't reflect the picture painted by some number crunching, no matter how many you pull out of S Rajesh' a.r.se. Bottom Line: For ten years you've tried, for ten years you have failed. This is as good as an opportunity you will get for another 100 years, considering Aus wont be touring Pak anytime soon, but you just don't have it in you to win. Considering your recent performances against TEST teams that are far, far poorer than the team you are facing, I feel relatively comfortable with my predictions. Any comments on your team's ability to survive on seaming wickets ? The last time I checked, they got beaten by Ireland.
Chalks Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 For my money, Toffee Kumar is still better than most of the current Pak batsmen. Back on topic, Pak will never have a better chance of ending their losing streak against Oz. Tomorrow is going to be fun.
EnterTheVoid Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 LAMO at these selective stats; You neglect his piss poor performances against Australia, South Africa and fatten his average due to the bashing of some hapless minnows, MOFO is best Pak batsman of this decade. Absolute outrage he wasn't good enough for CrapInfo's teams. :sniffle: Back on topic, Pak promise everyone the world, only to deliever an atlas. Tomorrow will confirm this.

ANd that was the same bangladesh that made india and pak travell together :--D:--D I dont know how you guys talk about this match vs ireland, doesn't that make you remember your firt round exit vs bangladesh...
