GAVASKAR yeah... and i wd love to add Gundappa Vishwanath.... loved the way he played the game... never saw him live but seen many of his innings and i thought he played the mighty Windies bowlers with ease and alweys played well in difficult conditions I think he was at par with GAVASKAR for a certain period in the INDIAN team

I dont know why some ICF-ers wanted VVS to be dropped in Tests, LOL Like Outy had written, we are unable to replace SG who is a lesser batsman than any of the trio. First get a stable replacement for SG and then we can consider the Rahanes and the Kohlis and other "prolific" batsmen to replace RD, SRT, VVS In the interim, hope and pray that the trio continues to play Test cricket or else batting collapses will become an everyday affair (in Tests). Its only because of these 3 (and to some extent VS and GG) - that we can compete.

What is Sourav doing in the list of the Best Indian batsman? No way is he in the list of top 10 Indian Test batsman. Gambhir will eventually get there perhaps with 4-5 very good years from now on to add to what he already has.

Sourav Da has more dan 10000 runs in ODI's and more than 7000 runs in test.... that makes him one of the finest in INDIA to have played cricket... I know he was not at his best in the last few years of his career but that does not remove his credentials... one of the best INDIAN cricketeer ever... with 22 and 16 centuries in ODI's and tests his credentials are there for every one to see...

Legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev considers the current set of Indian cricketers to be the best to have played for the country.
