Yuvraj must go on a diet!...and return to domestic cricket to regain form.

Yuvraj has had a precipitous loss of form recently. Apart from one reasonable innings in the Mohali T20, he hasn't played well since the ODI series against WI six months ago. I think he needs to do two thing: 1. Return to domestic cricket to try and gain some form. Staying out of the Test series with Bangladesh would be the best way to do this. 2. go on a diet!!!

He sure is way overweight. He was one of our best fielders in the past. Now he is just a pretender. As for the batting form it is temporary,i guess.

I was going to open a thread on this myself. When was the last time Yuvraj looked as listless as this in an ODI series? He's our premier batsmen in this format and to see him grope around like this is not just bad for his confidence, but the entire mood of the team. Either he's having some injury/fitness issues or his excess fat is catching up with him. Its staggering how much he's gone out of shape. I was recently watching an ODI match vs Sri Lanka before the WC and even back then, he was adequate shape. Now, to see him lumber in the outfield or between the wickets is such a pain on the eye.

Raina is on the same path as UV and has gained a LOT of weight. I don't think these guys are on a diet plan at all.

the entire team(except) dhoni should stay in bangladesh until they gain some fitness, they are not fit to be playing continuous cricket.no wonder we are having a lot of injuries lately.Kirsten is a "players coach" and our players fitness has regressed dramatically under him.

The way Rohit Sharma went down in instalments to stop that a drive from doing to the boundary was truly a sight to behold. How some members of India's most elite sports team can be so out of shape is something that is hard to fathom.

Yeah...the time has come where I am fine with him being dropped from the team now. I wish Dravid would come back. Also Same for Bhajji, he thinks he has a permanent spot in the team.

The rate at which we are going we might as well go with 11 batsmen. Yuvraj's fitness (lack of) and now Rain looks to be getting fat too. Raina is only in his early 20s FFS! Do these guys just eat any kind of fried stuff 24/7?

The amount of weight Yuvraj has put on is astonishing. He almost does not look like a sportsman anymore what with a double chin and a paunch. His bowling is proving useful on these tracks but has almost become a liability in the field and has endured a very ordinary run with the bat. Is he still troubled by the knee? I don't remember him having a surgery on it. Maybe, he should take 2 months off to completely haul back in shape. An in form Yuvraj is essential for the team's success in batting as well as fielding.

Raina is not FAT ! :offtopic:
Easy tiger. I just saw his recent photo and he seemed to have triple chin. I just don^'t want him to end up like Yuvraj.

IIRC, our team's doc (Nitin ?) advised him not to undergo the surgery, because that would put him out of action for atleast 2-3 months. I thought the advised was absurd as there is no easy fix for troubled knee. If its bothering him, he HAS to go under the knife because India can find a "temporary" fix for now, but its hard to replace UV for a long term basis.

Actually it is not just run of poor form. Also some technical issues. Mostly a result of poor defensive technique. He got out couple of times while defending playing down the wrong line.
