It has been almost 3 years since then and despite the super popular "BD will win WC-11" thread at bangbrocricket, nothing has changed. IIRC, BD failed to win a single ODI after the WC against non-minnow for 9 months and lost like 6 tests in row with innings margin. :hysterical::hysterical:

The whole world knows that Bangladesh is a garbage team and even their fans know this. Bangla fans should be happy that he atleast considers them ordinary because they are downright horrible. We should have sent our U-19s team to beat these clowns. Anyways, it should be fun to watch the world's worst cricket team going against the No. 1 team. No 1 team we are and I am not one to demean that, lets get that straight before continuing any further. Too arrogant, nobody needs to explicitly say 'no one can touch us', it can be implied indirectly. Absolutely ANY criticism of the team, and you get that no 1 ranking waved in your face to no end. Lowly Bangladesh giving India a tough time, very timely indeed, a reality check could not come at a better time. We are No 1 BUT we are not UNBEATABLE, so please get a grip and stop beheaving like we are head and shoulders above everyone, we are not.

In this day and age of PR conscious sportsmen, its so refreshing to find someone who speaks his mind. But, one of the dangers of speaking your mind is that you can come across as being arrogant and disrespectful, even though we all know someone like Viru is anything but those. We dont want to antagonize the entire opposition team/fans/cricket following public on the back of some press comments. What started in the press conference could easily escalate into worser things on the pitch. Sehwag is being Sehwag, so kudos to him. But he should refrain from making comments that could have a negative impact on our team's image, especially when English isnt his first language and few things could easily be lost in translation. I agree one hudred percent! Sehwag was just being Sehwag. He could care less if others thought of him as arrogant. He was simply saying it as he saw it. He was not in the business of being polite. Although in the long term if he was the captain of the Indian team he may have had to temper things with a bit more diplomacy. But he is not the captain and he has also announced that he does not want to be the captain. I guess that is extra license for him to be himself.
