16 November 2009 - Come get the application forms Pakistan players, who were barred from playing in the second season in South Africa this year - a result of the terrorist strikes in Mumbai last year - will be allowed to participate subject to the Pakistan Cricket Board issuing No Objection Certificates and the government granting visas. 17 November- Ready with filled application and NOC The PCB has granted NOCs to its players to take part in the next season of the IPL, Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq said. Razzaq claimed that the board had issued NOCs to players to take part in the IPL few days back and indicated he would be soon signing up for the Kolkata Knight Riders team. "Yes the PCB has given us NOCs for the IPL and hopefully this time we will be able to take part in the league in India," Razzaq said. 22 November - Where's the conduct certificate? Pakistani players' participation in the next Indian Premier League remains doubtful as IPL commissioner Lalit Modi has told the PCB that the league cannot obtain Indian Foreign Office's NOC for them. According to the 'Dawn' newspaper, Modi has told PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt that it was the responsibility of the Pakistani Board to seek NOCs from the Indian Foreign Office for players to take part in the lucrative league next year in March-April. The report said Modi has told Butt that if Pakistani players wanted to take part in the IPL, their board would have to submit all the required NOCs including those from the PCB and the governments of India and Pakistan. "This is an unusually tough condition set by Modi and diminishes the chances of Pakistani players taking part in the IPL," the newspaper said. 2 December - Here's the COC PCB gets nod from ministry for IPL Pakistan foreign ministry has no objection to send the country's cricketers to India to play in the Indian Premier League next year. If the interior ministry gives a security clearance, players will be issued NOCs soon. 7 December - Fake certificate. Get the original one! NEW DELHI: Indian Premier League chairman Lalit Modi, on Monday, said that Pakistani players will not be able to take part in IPL 3 as they failed to get clearance from PCB and obtain visas to play in India in March-April next year. "No Pak player will take part in IPL 3 as they failed to get clearance from PCB", Lalit Modi said. Earlier, Pakistan federal interior ministry gave security clearance to the national cricketers to participate in the third edition of the Indian Premier League. 9 December - begging, begging more begging The Pakistan Cricket Board has not given up hopes of trying to have their players appearing in next year's IPL, even though the league has ruled out their participation for the second season running after the players failed to get visas by the December 7 deadline. "We haven't left the situation for now," Ijaz Butt, the PCB chairman, told Cricinfo. "We are hopeful that the visas will come through in a day or two and are very hopeful that Pakistan's players will be in the next IPL." 10 December - Too late...try through the back door Indian Premier League Commissioner Lalit Modi on Thursday said the Pakistani cricketers have missed the deadline for the third IPL and the only way they can be part of the Twenty20 tournament is through the January 19 auction. Modi said the Pakistani cricketers missed the bus by failing to get visas by the December 7 deadline and the IPL franchises have already replaced them with fresh recruits. In such a scenario, the Pakistani cricketers could hope to be part of the event only through the next round of players auction scheduled on January 19. 11 dec to 17 Jan :secret: 18 Jan Base Price :omg: Mohammad Aamer 100,000 Shahid Afridi 250,000 Saeed Ajmal 100,000 Umar Akmal 100,000 Kamran Akmal 100,000 Umar Gul 100,000 Rana Naved ul Hasan 100,000 Imran Nazir 100,000 Abdul Razzaq 100,000 Sohail Tanvir 200,000 Misbah ul Haq 100,000 19 January :reddy:

Not going on paid vacation does hurt a little (from players pov). We Pakistani fans couldn't care less and are actually happy that our players are not part of this tamasha dancing league. I wholeheartedly want to thank Modi and others who were behind not picking our players. I hope you guys carry it on every year and keep our players away from this pointless tournament. It only makes our chances better to win WC and some other team getting a kick out in early stages one year after another. :winky:

Let him sulk, we the fans know how crucial it is for our boys to get the rest they need before the T20 tournament to hopefully continue their dominance and retain the title. Pakistani fans are delighted overall, the players might be miserable, but we the fans are honestly ecstatic due to the rest they'll get.

you know how many members are there on pp? small proportion did want players to play in ipl and have posted in ample to show their frustration, majority though don't give a hoot about this tournament. As far as players are concerned, well once again not going on paid vacation is sure a little annoying. If I was a Pakistani player I wouldn't mind earning big bucks for bowling few overs and swinging my bat at every delivery around majority of useless domestic players. And we Pakistanis don't hate you guys like most of here have been showing your garbage class against Pakistanis. We don't mix dirty politics with sports and act a lot more civil.
