Is there a reason why Sreesanth should be picked again?

Well, I already mentioned Munaf as a different case because he got injured very early on in his career and had to modify his action. Sudeep Tyagi also got a similar injury in a stress fracture only a year after playing cricket 2/3 years ago. When were Sharma/Pathan clocking over 140 consistently on Indian pitches?
I dont know why this Indian pitches factor is such a big thing, Fontaine? That was my point. It is not as if our neighbours Sri Lanka, Pakistan or even Bangladesh have this problem. It is about our bowlers entering to the arena screaming and then after a single season in most cases, whimpering along. The screaming is nowhere to be seen - pace wise. Pathan was clocking consistently at 140 kmph during his debut season. Same for Ishant Sharma. ________ GLASS PIPES CHEAP

How is this not true of Sri Lanka and Pakistan bowlers? umer Gul, Aamer and Rana are down to the same speed on sub-continent wickets. Malinga is a freak

Uhhh did you bother looking at the averages he has against these top batsmen? I thought it was fairly obvious to anyone with the least bit of common sense to actually read the number of times he's played against those batsmen like Peterson and how bad his average is against most of them. Surely you can't be this retarded?
The averages quoted in your cricinfo query are junk. They are based on the number of runs the batsman scored against all bowlers in that particular innings before the bowler in question dismissed him, not the runs scored against Sreesanth. For example, if a batsman scored 80 runs in an innings, and only 10 against Sreesanth before being dismissed by him, the average in your query would be returned as 80. At least have an understanding of what you are posting before getting all gung ho about it.

Malinga is a freak[/quote'] Gul was regularly clocking 140s in the last IPL - which was conducted in India (obviously). Rana has aged and is now more of a fast medium pacer with excellent variations and a very good yorker. Aamer - to my knowledge has not bowled on Indian wickets. But he is one of the best bowlers to come through in recent times. ________ Vanesshot

Indian bowlers were clocking in the 140s too in the IPL. In test matches in sub-continent he clocks in the 135s. So does Aamer. One of the best bowlers Aamer averages 42 in test cricket while Ishant averages a good ten points less than him. In fact Ishant, Zaheer and SreeSanth average less than all Pak bowlers excelt Asif. And Asif is not exactly speedy, is he?

I do not recall seeing him bowl in Pakistan either. So, I am afraid I am going to have to pass on that. Which Indian bowlers were clocking 140s in the IPL, My two cents? ________ condos in Wong Amat

Irfan was consistently bowling the 140s against Australia in the 2004/05 home series. In fact, one of my lasting memories of that tour was a 145 kph Irfan yorker that clean bowled Justin Langer (dont know which test it was..) Ishant too, was mostly in the 140s in the sole test he played against South Africa at home and regularly over 140 against Australia also.

I don't hate sree, I hate the way he under performs and then gets injured again and again. It's the same complaint most of us have against him.

It's the same complaint most of us have against him.[/quote'] it happens to most indian bowlers like zak, munaf, who tried to bowl quick , now they bowl within themselves, its just the fact in these hot humid conditions and flat pitches when you give 100% and try to bowl as fast as you can you will get injuries like australian team got when they came here and sree had a stress fracture and a hamstring pull is not major, lets wait and see what he does play some time, i am sure he has cha nged for the good, his behaviour is better than it was.

I did watch those matches, cricket_god, but I am afraid I have already forgotten. Good on the guys. But all this still does not explain why the Indian fast bowlers en masse lose pace after initially bursting through with good pace.

He is still a good bowler. But his behaviour today has just about put paid to his hopes - I would think. That sarcasm against your opponent and even the umpire is just not on. No way. I have lost all respect for Sreesanth with that.

No One is going to pick him next year.... he may have to open chai wala stall outside the stadiums or become cheer leader...
our cricketers are so rick they may buy stadiums.coming to point he has not even been banned his antics are fine if he performs well, after we are hammered in the world t20 we will need him in tests when selectors drop nehra ,p.k, vinay
