ESPN Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 "No parliamentary delegation to India" Pakistan will not send any parliamentary delegations to India to protest the 'treatment meted out' to the country's cricketers. This decision was taken to protest the 'treatment meted out' to the country's cricketers in the auction for the lucrative Indian Premier League tournament, National Assembly Speaker Fehmida Mirza said on Wednesday. Mirza made the remarks in the National Assembly or lower house of parliament after the main opposition PML-N party said its members will boycott all official visits to India to protest the perceived snub of the Pakistani cricketers. Senior PML-N leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, who is also Leader of Opposition, said no leader from his party will travel to India with an official delegation till the neighbouring country "changes its attitude" towards Pakistan. Khan called on the government to boycott all sports activities with India. Khan alleged that India was treating Pakistani players and artists in an "insulting manner" while the government remained silent. He said India was earning crores of rupees from Pakistan through its films, the screening of which should be banned by the government. Following Khan's remarks, Speaker Mirza said visits to India by parliamentary delegations would be cancelled. Diplomatic sources told PTI no Pakistani parliamentary delegation is scheduled to visit India in the near future.

They took their decisions on their own and we are NOT responsible for it. Where the heck is the Pakistani government taking this? We didn't behave like this even when these idiots did 26/11 and were bloody exposed doing it. And people across the border are crying for a bloody IPL contract. Seriously, what the hell !

Abbas said he would talk to sports minister Ejaz Jakhrani on the matter. The World Cup is due to held from last week of February in Delhi with Pakistan facing India in their opening match of a tournament they have not won since 1994. "We need to make some sort of strong statement conveying our feelings over the way the IPL organisers and franchises deliberately insulted our cricketers at the auction," Abbas said. Not a single Pakistani cricketer found a buyer at the glitzy auction held in Mumbai on Tuesday. The former Test batsman said Pakistan must be clear about its sports policy with India and act accordingly. "We must be clear about how we should have sporting relations with India because for the last one year they have been doing everything possible to hurt our image and isolate us internationally," he said. Jakhrani was also in a belligerent mood while talking to the media after the national assembly and said Pakistan would be reviewing its sporting ties with India. Jakhrani said the Pakistan Cricket Board should have taken into consideration everything before pressing the government to give clearance for Pakistani players to take part in the IPL. "The PCB should have been more careful and analytical. And I will bring up this issue with the chief patron of the board," he said. Jamshed Dasti, the chairman of the National Assembly (NA) standing committee on sports blamed the PCB leadership for the humiliation the players had to face at the IPL auction. "This is not the first time the board and Chairman, Ejaz Butt have failed miserably to handle things properly and read the situation correctly," he said. "That is why the NA standing committee has urged the chief patron to immediately change the Chairman of the board and make other changes in the cricket set-up," he said. lulz...

It's between a commercial enterprise and employment opportunities for Pakistani players. Neither government should have anything to do with it. I am surprised some of the Pakistanis are questioning why ICC is not doing anything. To what extent can people be retarded?
