fineleg Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 if I connect laptop to cable modem directly, I can get to ICF homepage if I connect via router, I am unable to access.,.All other webpages load fine with or without router if I ping indiancricketfans.com with router, I get Failed 72.232.250.10 REQUEST TIMED OUT Linksys Wrt54G i'm testing Wired connection, so no chance of 'wireless' issue. This is Wired router connection. Laptop, browser ok since ICF works without router, with just cable modem No access restriction/website blocking in router AFAIK

coffee_rules Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 delete all cookies and try again. See if ICF is blocked in firefox or IE or your browser or in the router itself. See if there is a default route set in the PC or in the router for the subnet of ICF (72.x.x.x). hard reset the router (not just power cycle) or upgrade the firmware as somebody suggested.

The other websites are accessible. I'll try out some things mentioned by Sachinism, coffee rules and mhr123. I dont think it is browser or laptop issue - since the ICF is accessible if I connect my laptop directly to the cable modem. Only when the Linksys router is used (it is a wired connection - so not a wireless issue) -then the ICF is not accessible. Something with the router being used for connecting to ICF, but unable to figure out just yet.

I hardly criticize the team these days, since I have outgrown that phase (for the most part, occasional irritations allowed). We have a big innings defeat at home, and I dont even have a single criticism post (not even on Harbi :D)

maggot_brain Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 try using "tracert www.indiancricketfans.com " at command pmt. and u will see were it gets stuckup.. it will trace it from ur PC to router to ISP till ICF server. This is a good idea. Running a traceroute that is. Also make sure that it's not a DNS issue. Type 'ipconfig /flushdns' in a command prompt. Then try pinging indiancricketfans.com when you're connected directly to the cable modem and see if the ip address is the same. If it isn't your router's DNS setting may be fried.

It's the crap firmware that's the issue.

Fineleg's router is easy to flash and use a 3rd party firmware with. It won't increase your Broadband speed if that's what you're hoping for.
