Monday 15th February 2010 Yuvraj Singh ruled out of ODI series India's swashbuckling left-hander Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of the ODI series against SA starting on February 21. India's bid to win the ODI series against South Africa got a big blow as the hard hitting middle order batsman, who also missed the ongoing Test series, is yet to recover from a finger injury which he sustained during the Bangladesh series. The Indian selection committee, led by Krish Srikkanth, will meet on Tuesday to pick the ODI squad against South Africa.
Show_stopper Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 This means Raina and kohl will get to face more of the SA bowlers..so perhaps a blessing in disguise.
Sachinism Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 This means Raina and kohl will get to face more of the SA bowlers..so perhaps a blessing in disguise. perhaps, but not having Yuvi for the ODIs is a big blow
Karan114 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Yeah he will be missed. Same top six that played that tri-series final in Bangla with Sachin in for Yuvi I guess. Good chance for Kohli though
Show_stopper Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 perhaps' date=' but not having Yuvi for the ODIs is a big blow[/quote'] Indeed it is. But I would prefer him making a comeback in the IPL instead of a crucial series like this and keep kohli(who seems to be in great form) out. Besides its time we found out what the younger batsmen can do against SAF bowlers.
cowboysfan Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 pandey should replace yuvi in the squad.
kooljatt Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Feck...I ain't watching any match then :crying:
kooljatt Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 :two_thumbs_up:pandey should replace yuvi in the squad.
Guest Gunner Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Its a pity to go into the ODI series without yuvi. A big problem for us I would say.
Lord Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 ^ yes that too against SA.Yuvraj also gives us a left arm option.i hope selectors now give Irfan a chance n also Pandey in the squad although hes unlkely to make the XI
siddhu Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 oh great... now he will return fatter than ever...
Lord Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 :hmmm: u never know with these selectors, they might 'rest' him
yoda Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 u never know with these selectors' date='they might 'rest' him[/quote'] not unless he wanted to.
Guest Gunner Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Baize, if I remember correctly Yuvraj has had a recurrent knee [?] problem for sometime now. Isn't it a good idea for him to undergo the surgery now and be ready for the World Cup next year? God knows we need him desperately for the WC.
