saneindian
Add Mumbai, Delhi and Kanpur to the list as well. Tests played at Mohali, Nagpur and Ahmedabad haven't seen decent crowds. One reason could be that the stadiums in these three cities are located way outside the main city. Link to comment
Malcolm Merlyn
eden is one of the best grounds in the world,it has more history to it than anyother.....we will win it here.....how many people were in nagpur for the match?.20000 plus people cheered the team on through out the day lifting them.what happened at nagpur in 2004 why did a certain mr anohar and his curator left a green pitch for the australians.People hating eden gardens and kolkata must remember that it is the place of indians greatest come from behind moment.Commentators and cricketers around the world swear by the atmosphere at kolkata.nagpur gets so many matches almost every tour it gets a match because of mr manohar. Today Sunny gavaskar wrote a column that why should the no.1 team need a curator's help so lets ban him as well.At least the curator here didnt gave a green grassland like in nagpur.why nagpur wasnt banned? anyone asking to take away matches from eden gardens :thefinger: :icflove: Link to comment

Dhondy
Yesterday, Sachin & Laxman tried to visit Kalighat. Laxman was mobbed till he was blue in the face, while Sachin couldn't get out of his car. Our kind of cricket. Another generation of children will be converted to cricket soon. Goodbye academic excellence, hard work, initiative and self respect. Hullo to cricket idolatry, simulated partisanship (oh yeah, Kolkata Riders v Rajasthan Royals does it everytime for me) and whiling away hours in front of the TV. Grow up, India. Link to comment
Deleted_User_1
honestly I do not understand why more matches are not scheduled at Eden Gardens. Being personally there myself many times, it is a fabulous ground and the crowd is probably the most vociferous and enthusiastic in India. Watching a match at Eden is a riot!! Link to comment

Block hole
Dale Steyn will be no problem "Dale Steyn will be no problem" Afghanistan allrounder Karim Sadiq is brimming with confidence ahead of his team's World Twenty20 matches against South Africa and India After an astonishing run of victories in Dubai lifted them into this year's ICC World Twenty20, a jubilant Afghanistan team has now set their sights on upsetting some of the leading cricket nations in the Caribbean. Just over a year ago they were facing lightweights like Fiji and Cayman Islands, but their rapid rise has pitchforked them into the same group as India and South Africa for the World Twenty20, their first top-flight tournament. "We will be working hard to upset one of the teams," batting allrounder Karim Sadiq told AFP. Sadiq expected a massive welcome from fans when the team reached home from Dubai, but said the focus will soon switch to preparing for the World Twenty20, beginning on April 30. "People in my country are very happy, and there will be big celebrations in Afghanistan when we return," he said. "I think maybe three million people will come to the city to celebrate and dance." He was brimming with confidence and unfazed at the prospect of facing some of the world's quickest bowlers during the World Twenty20. "I will go to Afghanistan and practice on a 14-metre wicket against fast bowlers where the ball will be coming at 160-165 kmh," he said. "Dale Steyn will be no problem. He bowls at 150 or 145 kmh - we have Hamid Hassan who bowls at 145 and Shapoor Zadran and we hit sixes in every over off them back in Afghanistan." His team-mate Raees Ahmadzai, a legspinner, was also bullish and hopeful of standing up to the best players around. "Our players want to match players like Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni," Ahmadzai said. "We want to see the grounds in the West Indies and show the world that we are not behind the other teams and show everybody that Afghanistan is one of the best cricket teams in the world." It has been a dizzying rise for Afghanistan, who won ODI status ten months ago but narrowly missed out on qualifying for the World Cup in 2011. In their strife-torn nation, the team's rapid progress has already made them heroes and a source of hope. Link to comment

Dhondy
Bit dramatic? Maybe. Answer this, though: could you have been a better professional, had you not had posted 23000 times here? What about the countless hours you spent watching cricket? How do you measure up to a guy who follows a couple of soccer matches a week? Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Any reason why Sehwag was not at all used? Before the collapse they were going at 4 an over. Any particular reason why Dhoni didn't try Sehwag or Tendulkar or even Badri? Just 4 bowlers? There is a chance they will be running out of gas in the 2nd innings. Link to comment
