I thought this thread would have provoked more debate around the Tendulkar/Bradman comparison. Take a look at this link, listing how many times various snooker greats have won the world championship. Joe Davis is way out in front, winning 15 consecutive world titles from 1927 to 1946. As the years have rolled on, the number of world titles won by the leading players of the day has dropped, and yet the overall quality of play has improved. The trend is clear. Very few would rank Joe Davis as the world's greatest ever. I like the comparison, it crossed my mind ages ago but couldn't express it. I thought the comparison was also due to the fact it requires a superior set of skills unlike pool, a longer table with strict rules on kissing, follow on and timing for placement. A hard shot ( six in cricket ) was meant for reversing and positioning, just like in cricket where you need to push away close in fielders :winky:
