Michael Clarke abandons NZ tour for 'personal reasons' on eve of third ODI By staff writers March 08, 2010 Australia vice-captain Michael Clarke has abandoned his country's tour of New Zealand for personal reasons on the same day his fiancee Lara Bingle broke her silence. Clarke left the team's Hamilton hotel on Monday night to fly back to Sydney as the remainder of the squad prepared for Tuesday's third one-day international against the Black Caps. Middle-order batsmen Adam Voges is likely to be in the XI for the match in Hamilton. Clarke's departure leaves just 12 players in the Australia travelling part with Voges and Clint McKay the two back-ups yet to play in the Chappell-Hadlee series. A replacement player may be called up from Australia for the final two one-day games in Auckland on Thursday and Wellington on Saturday.

Not a big loss in the one dayers, in fact could be the other way around. However, I hope he returns in time for the tests because he's one of the best in tests.

"Australia vice-captain Michael Clarke has abandoned his country's tour of New Zealand for personal reasons on the same day his fiancee Lara Bingle broke her silence." Broke her silence about what? What kind of news reporting is that? Such articles make no sense.

He is a throwback 80s and 90s with his batting approach in ODIs. Can't believe he recent got to 50 without even a single boundary. In England his strike rate was around 58 or so.

She only doesnt like it because she isnt making any money from it, fairly sure she has posed nude before but obviously a fat pay check makes a difference. And Clarke should stop being a pussy for her, he missed some of the WI tests because of her a few years ago and is now missing more cricket.

Get your story straight before sprouting non sense. That idiot is married but he took the pictures and spread it around. That's what she is upset about Clarkes in a relationsip with her and it's fair he take some time off to deal with his personal problems

So hold on was she cheating on pup or this was before they started dating ? From what I read that afl player is a married man and lara was going out with him, did she not care about (other) woman's dignity then ? As Charlie sheen would say leverage is a fickle *****
