Chorazin Reto Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Lol so much whining in this thread, could be an advertisement for Kleenex, Clarke is so gonna get hammered with sledging about Bingle in the Test series rofl. U'd have to be pissed at Hussey for saying you shouldnt be sledging him over the Bingle breakup, thats like an open book with a sledge regarding Bingle on every page.
Gambit Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Anyone remember the 'Choo Choo' incident? That is the most despicable and vile bit of sledging by the Aussies, ever.
Mr. Wicket Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I thought Chris Cairns (who was reputedly at the receiving end) denied it. :dontknow:
achilles Posted March 16, 2010 Author Posted March 16, 2010 It's not at all a surprise when achilles is at the heart of it. And with all those random facts you gave me, what is your point ? When did I ever deny them ? You obviously didn't get the purpose of my original comment anyway, I said that becausen it's always Australia this Australia that.. You talking about not denying them and keep whining at every given opportunity. Chandan is right. "So much whining". Atleast be brave enough to say this in words - "Aussies are rascals when it comes to sledging the opposition and babies when it comes to hearing them back". Don't gimme all that crap about "when did I ever deny it". If you haven't denied, what stops you from expressing your "denial"? :finger: If you can't, no one here is going to buy your crap :finger:. Also, try to trouble your eyes and read my posts again. I have stated that I do like certain Aussies and not all of them are racists. But ofcourse, how can I expect you to be balanced :hehe: Also, are you going to justify this as well- hmm. interesting http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au/article/2010/03/16/155011_news.html ???
99.94 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Anyone remember the 'Choo Choo' incident? That is the most despicable and vile bit of sledging by the Aussies' date=' ever.[/quote'] I thought Chris Cairns (who was reputedly at the receiving end) denied it. :dontknow: Exactly. It's a fallacy, it never happened.
Mr. Wicket Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 That said I'm not familiar with too many of the finer details. Heard about it, was disgusted, heard Cairns refuting it (or recollect some article referring to the same) and forgot it. Any sources confirming or refuting?
99.94 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 And yes, I'd like to add this again - "Not every Aussie is racist or a tool". But the Aussies just don't admit that they have a major problem with their crowd. They just brush it under the mat and when the pressure gets too much, they blame the other countries' crowd. Yes, they do this practically every time South Africa tours them coz the crowd racially abuses their players (Makhaya is a crowd "favourite") and then the Aussies say the crowd gives a bit of stick coz they got stick when they went there (completely ignoring that it was the Aussie crowd which started the trend and it is but natural for the SA crowd to have a backbone and respond when Aus tour them). :finger: This is so friggin lame. And then they have the nerve to say Indian crowds are bad :cheer: And aussie crowds are very decent. See the video YouTube- Australia vs India - Harbhajan Singh Well I can actually tell you Ntini fielded in front of me for an entire day and nothing was said to him, and he had fun with the crowd (challenging people to fights, signalling 2 and 0 with his fingers) so it annoys me that you could just say Ntini is a crowd "favourite". Wow, they're saying he's a ******.. did you watch any of the Australia vs New Zealand series? There was hours of non-stop Waton's a ****** or Johnson's a ******, there is nothing wrong with it and hence why it got no complaints from the Australians. I don't see how people can say Australian's can't handle sledging. You'll probably point to two incidents - one of racism (which the ICC says must be reported if heard on the field, and so that was done) and the other one being McGrath spitting the dummy at Sarwan, which I personally can understand. It may be hard for others to relate to but I can imagine why he would act that way (you can imagine if you had spent a long hard day in the field and then someone insults your wife who you had just left at home by herself while she was fighting cancer that it might annoy you). I would say the feeling that Australian's can't handle sledging is ridicolous. I even remember Gillespie saying he often hears Indians saying things to him and laughing to which he always tells them to sledge in a language he can understand, so he can get involved too. MEH. I am trying in vain as obviously Achilles isn't going to change his point of view because" HE IS RIGHT."
99.94 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 That said I'm not familiar with too many of the finer details. Heard about it, was disgusted, heard Cairns refuting it (or recollect some article referring to the same) and forgot it. Any sources confirming or refuting? In Chris Cairns' book he denied it ever happened. It was made up by a New Zealand journalist. Steve Waugh also denied it.
Bradman99 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 You talking about not denying them and keep whining at every given opportunity. Chandan is right. "So much whining". But ofcourse, how can I expect you to be balanced :hehe: Also, are you going to justify this as well- ??? Maybe it's because you go out of your way to say bad things about Australia. A simple comment like this from Hussey and you turn it into a thread about McGrath.. It's quite clear to me, obviously to you, your opinion is the only one that counts. Aussies are bad sledgers, yes. I never denied that. I will never defend a player who has said something as distasteful as McGrath did to Lara, no matter how much I like the player. Babies when getting sledged back, not sure about that. Only time they seem to get worried about it, is when it gets personal. Which leads me back to my original point, if a sledge has become personal- not to do with cricket- and is highly offensive, I would never condone it. Aussies were sledge notoriously in NZ, crowds callin our players "******s", they took it well. And for your information, I like what the NZ crowd were doing, I think it's good. Maybe you are right, I maybe don't express my "denial" enough, but I think that gets done enough by the people on here- you say enough bad stuff to cover me and perhaps an entire continent. Fair call on the last paragraph. And no I don't justify that, I'm not an evil person. I just state my opinions, not everyone has to agree with you.
Chorazin Reto Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Since when is "stupid Indian" racist, a vast number of Indians are a caucasoid derivative, maybe stupid caucasoid derivative would be a better racial insult. I think in this case, Racial Taunt needs to be altered to Ethnic Slur!!!
EnterTheVoid Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 The choo - choo incident, from my understanding, goes like this; ------- Chris Cairn' sister Louise was killed (1993) when the passenger train she was travelling hit a cement truck that failed to stop at a level crossing. When Cairn' came out to bat, he was supposedly greeted by "choo - choo" noises, imitating the noises the train makes. The story was alleged to have made up by some NZ journalist. Cairn', for his part, refuted the allegations when asked to comment on it. ------- .

Chorazin Reto Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 ""Indians are a Caucasoid derivative? I mean, is there not a limit for your imagination? :)"" You will find in fact that a lot of Indian peoples are of Caucasian background more than any other(predominately South or Dravidian), India is quite a diverse place however, people like the Naga possess a more mongoloid based genetic background. By derivative i mean the common ancestor Caucasians evolved from quite some time back(proto-caucasian).......... possibly before sledging existed!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dravidian_race http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caucasian_race "Bloody Hindu" Maybe said individual that slung the verbiage was Agnostic or Atheist :winky:

Please get real.
flamy Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I think he didn't expect a West Indian to respond with a smart sledge. Windians usually get worked up and McGrath thought he would get Sarwan all angry, so much so that he would throw his wicket away. Unfortunately, Sarwan hit back and EPICLY pwned Glenn. And the moment he heard it, Glenn knew that, just like always, he had been pwned forever :hysterical: that's cuz he has some East Indian in him, yo They'd have their reasons but I am sure they'd say the same about us. Consider it even than. What do you mean by "us" ? :dontknow: It's better than covering up the incident with "we just started chanting for our monkey God in the middle of a match and it just happened to coincide with Australia's only black player fielding on the fence at that time". :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Lol so much whining in this thread, could be an advertisement for Kleenex, Clarke is so gonna get hammered with sledging about Bingle in the Test series rofl. Mr. Wicket Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 What do you mean by "us" ? :dontknow: Perhaps he means all the other sree_israelis. or sree_aussies? ROFL, Clarke will be pissed at Hussey, or was Hussey actually subtly sledging Clarke now? :P Could have also been a super Machiavellian plan to undermine Clarke or make him suffer. Make that kind of comment asking others to lay off, throw it out there for EVERY journo to jump on and chew apart, not to mention plenty of NZ fans will have much to offer. Michelle will be wishing he hadn't suddenly bailed on the team. I bet if Hussey had just ignored it completely and focused only on the cricket, rather than asking people to be nice to ickle widdle Clarkie, nobody would have cared. :--D
Mr. Wicket Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Mike Hussey is no Ponting or Symonds. The man is smart. Shrewd. He probably knows that telling the world "Please lay off the poor guy, his girlfriend's very upset and it's really affecting him" will be akin to telling school bullies to be nice to the slow kid who just got off the short bus. :--D (Hussey for kaptaan. Please, selectors, you dimwitted bunch of morons with all of five brain cells shared around by the selection panel, atone for all those past sins by just making him the next skip ahead of Michelle.)
Mr. Wicket Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Thread cleaned up. Now to hope we can get back on topic; if not EMC and the banning stick are likely to show up if the thread continues to degenerate into insult exchanges and petty fights. This post will self-destruct in 2 hours, or after an on-topic reply.
