abhinav
MI play 7 out of their first 8 games at home in Mumbai, giving them a great uninterrupted run. They don't have to travel, they don't have to worry about crowd support for other teams! Is this a coincidence?
Guest Hiten.
BRC is getting 7 days rest before their next game. :hello:

Guest Hiten.
Because you have said nothing different than other moaners who come out in numbers when Mumbai is doing well (due to strong Mumbai lobby). This could've been spotted prior to game 1 in IPL, no ? Are you telling me that you had a sudden urge of looking into IPL schedule when your team is doing fairly okay. Precambrian
Haha at people talking as if travelling is something like travelling in a Chennai Bus or something. The maximum travel time is about 4 hours to anywhere between the venues (including to and fro drop). And that is via planes. Dunno what the fuss is about here. In county cricket, players have to travel like this for almost 5-6 months straight but not by planes, but by ordinary coaches for 4-5 hours. While county game are like 4 days, here it is a matter of 3 hours play.

In India, travelling to and from the airport takes more time than the actual flight times. It can easily take 2+ hours to reach the airport (lets say bangalore airport), add to that the security check etc, and the ever present flight delays, you are easily looking at 7-8 hours trips from hotel room to hotel room. I've been travelling enough by planes to know about the situation. Bangalore in worst case takes abt 1-1.2 hours, with security checks make it 1.5 hours. Add to that plane time of 1.5 to 2 hours. Plus from airport to hotel room another 1 hour. Total of max 4-5 hours. And you are not exactly running around, or being made to carry your luggage during this time are you? Out of the 5 hours, you get atleast 4 hours to doze off and take rest.

If you are talking about partisan crowds, we haven't reached fully there yet, although definite progress is there ot see in this IPL.
Ram
Probably just a co-incidence. But it does sound a bit odd that a team gets to play so many of its initial matches at home. I am sure that even the most rabid MI fan wont deny the obvious home-court advantage. Maybe Mukesh Ambani has been sending a few emails around? :hmmm:
