watched it today. Comes somewhere close to being very good, though not a 'great' movie. Abhishek is good, Aishwarya is just about OK, Mani's direction is very good as usual with some fine cinematography (love Mani's movie for this, makes you wonder where the hell do they find such wonderful locations?) and some loevely scores by A.R. Rahman. Would give it about 8.5/10, Worth a watch I'd say. :wtg:

Re: Guru review(s) AB jr acted brilliantly. In the last scene, he looked exactly like his father. Ash wasn't bad either. Definitely recommended.

AB jr acted brilliantly. In the last scene' date=' he looked exactly like his father. Ash wasn't bad either. Definitely recommended.[/quote'] yeah noticed a few times he looks like Sr. Bachchan. Jr has some good scenes, like the one with Mithun and Madhavan.

Re: Guru review(s) He is way better than people give credit him for. his problem was this constant comparison to big B and well let us face it anyone will look novice if compared to senior bachchan.

Re: Guru review(s) Abhishek is superb in the first half and mind-numbingly apes his dad in throughout the rest of the movie. It is Vijay Dinanath Chauhan all over. And what is with that 'hainh'?? And he didn't exactly need to go topless did he? Or was it just a way of showing off that he had actually put on weight for the role and it is not just padding? Reminded me of Aamir doing the same with Mangal Pandey. It is a rocking comback from Mithun da. Abhishek misses a golden opportunity here. If he wants to grow out of his dad's shadow, apeing his father is most definitely not gonna help.

Re: Guru review(s) I don't think he has imitated Sr Bachchan at all. In his earlier movies he did it (or who ever behind the movie had him do it), but now he and Sr are smart enough not to make such mistake, especially with project like this.
