[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rXPrfnU3G0]YouTube- Broadcast Yourself.[/ame] If you don't know what this is, read up here WikiLeaks has posted a video on its website which it claims shows the killing of civilians by the US military in Baghdad in 2007. The website's organisers say they were given the footage, which they say comes from cameras on US Apache helicopters. They say they decrypted it, but would not reveal who gave it to them. The WikiLeaks site campaigns for freedom of information and posts leaked documents online. So far there has been no official Pentagon response. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8603938.stm More info: http://www.collateralmurder.com/

really pathetic if its true .. if it is true then I wont be surprised about the rapes and other charges on US soldiers in Iraq .. nobody there seemed to be using guns or doing anything in that video and it is unethical to kill humans without any reason .. sometimes wonder if they would have done the same if they were Americans instead of being Iraqis :hmmm:

Only if they had the guts to do it face to face. They needed to be perched up in helicopter with jizzed up guns to kill those poor cilivilians and suspects. feckers.

one of the many reasons why i left the marines... this is downright disgusting! in defense of the soldiers, you cannot discern between a camera and some miscellaneous weapon. but the attack on the van evacuating the injured was bizzare!

US accepts the killings tape to be authentic

As my colleague Elisabeth Bumiller reported, a senior American military official confirmed on Monday that a graphic video released by the Web site WikiLeaks.org, which shows an American helicopter shooting and killing a Reuters photographer and driver during a July 2007 attack in Baghdad, is authentic. On Tuesday, an Iraqi journalists’ union called on the country’s government to investigate incident. The head of the union, Mouyyad al-Lami said, “This is another crime added to the crimes of the U.S. forces against Iraqi journalists and civilians,” The Associated Press reported. One of the whistle-blowing group’s founders, Julian Assange, explained and defended the decision to release the graphic, disturbing video shot from the helicopter during interviews in Washington on Monday with Al Jazeera and Russia Today. Both of those appearances, and an edited version of the leaked video, are available on YouTube. (Be warned that even the edited version shows people being killed.) Wikileaks uploaded the 17-minute edit to YouTube on Monday morning, along with the complete video, which runs more than 39 minutes. Soon after releasing the video, Mr. Assange discussed it with Alyona Minkovski, a Washington correspondent for Russia Today, an English-language satellite channel financed by the Russian government.

really sad. but it really is the screw up of some dumb young kid who decides that the camera looked like a weapon. Keep in context the fact that they are under attack by people who look very similar with IEDs and RPGs etc. Sure this looks bad, and is, but look at the process. The shooter had to ask permission before he could start shooting. ITs not some cowboy crap where soldiers in helicopter had free reign to do whatever they want. Its a real tragedy though.
