king2be98 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 The Indians and some of the Pakistani posters on here are just so childish. Yes Pakistan have not beaten India, every team has a stumbling block when it comes to big tournaments, for example England has Argentina the football world cup. Sooner or later Pakistan will beat India in a major event, records like this are eventually broken. As for the everyone writing off India because they will be tired, I don't think so, I don't think they will stand no chance because of the IPL, I don't think they stand a chance because they don't have bowlers who can contain. As we keep seeing in T20 cricket, finding economical bowlers is much more difficult than big hitters. Pakistan have several economical bowlers in T20 cricket, mock and joke about them as you wish, but the stats and their performances are a clear indication that Pakistan's bowling is superior to everyone elses in this format. It comes as no suprise then that Pakistan's record in this format is also superior to everyone elses. I think people need to grow up and stop the constant Pak-Indo bashing, it grow tiring you know. Anyways, as always I'm hoping that this is a bowlers tournament, I'm fed up of batsmen getting everythign in their favour. If everyone performas to their potential I can see a Pakistan v Australia final if that's possible. I know the Indian batting looks destructive, but it's just so difficult to put away Ajmal and Afridi in the middle overs and then it's near impossible to go at more than 7 per over when Gul is bowling yorker after yorker after yorker as he did in 07 and 09.
king2be98 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I have been looking through the IPL and I've not seen one pace bowler who has the ability to do what Wayne Parnell or Umar Gul did last summer. There are plenty of spinners who can really tighten the screws so I can see probably all 3 asian teams gettting to the semis.
vvvslaxman Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 err i'm not talking about pak's track record against us. its their record in T-20 WC overall which is - truth be said - better than us. you would be an absolute fool to argue the other way around as even stats do not back up that. Yes we do have a perfect record against pak in WC's, but that is not going to win us a WC. Fans like you - ie guys who pray that india defeats pak in a WC even if they don't win it. are narrow minded at best and not true fans of indian cricket. I'd take a loss to pak and a WC victory over the perfect record and no WC victory. Please grow up and act like mature fans(like me). Mature fans don't pretend to be fans of some other country.

There are plenty of spinners who can really tighten the screws so I can see probably all 3 asian teams gettting to the semis. 16.1 Umar Gul to Pathan, FOUR, backs away and inside out loft over extra cover for four, Yusuf can't do anything wrong tonight, bounces at extra cover and goes for four 16.2 Umar Gul to Pathan, 1 wide, short and wide outside leg, Yusuf doesn't need to touch that (though he tries to pull), wide called 16.2 Umar Gul to Pathan, 1 wide, another one, short again and down leg, Gul is probably trying too hard to bounce him here, Yusuf waits and watches 16.2 Umar Gul to Pathan, FOUR, ripper, round the wicket and short again, he stands and pulls with serious power, steaming through midwicket for four, what a tournament he's having 16.3 Umar Gul to Pathan, SIX, what a way to finish! Yusuf has done it in style, chips it way over square leg for a big six, he's turned this match around in a trice and stands at the non-striker's end and flexes his muscles at his team-mates. They've plucked the chestnuts out of the fire here. In the semi-finals for sure now, Rajasthan. And they truly deserve to be the first team to do so. Dude this was first IPL. In the IPL Umar Gul would have been eaten alive by Uthappas, Tiwarys and so many other batsmen. They didn't spare any bowlers. Gul has been thrashed by every tom dick and harry in recent times not to mention Gul is Gambhir's biatch. :hysterical:
patriot Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Yuvraj Singh is such a super talented bastard, in this form of the game he can win us games as single handedly as they come. For a while now, he seems to play well, only when heavily criticized or dropped from the side. Gambhir has credited Gary Kirsten wholly for his amazing run of form and hunger. As have Sehwag and SRT. If Yuvraj cannot make use of Kirsten to remain focussed, hungry and dedicated he would have only himself to blame. As it is he does not deserve a place in the test side now, ahead of Murali Vijay. I hope he takes all the criticism of him to heart and responds the only way he should when it matters for India in the T20 WC. I strongly believe only a Yuvraj Singh in hot form can make it happen for us in the T20 WC, in absence of guys like Uthappa and Pandey.
b555 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 i tell whats gonna happen.. these guys gonna crash out too early hey come back their captain is indefinitely bannedd.. he permanently retires for a wekk.. then the board sacks other players... and then these layers r pardoned .. and they get ready for another such showdown
nballa Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 dude first of all I dont even give a ants asss about tonteee-tonteee (thats what true cricket fans would do )... secondly the no.of worldcups won is the same by both teams so this better track record means jack sheet ... and go ask any paki which wc he would rather have won the 2007 one or the 2009 one if he could choose. oh good, because i was afraid you would come up with yet another ridiculous stat saying we held the WC for 2 yrs 2007-2009 where as pak only gets a chance to hold it for 1 yr. 2 > 1 hence we are better. phew dodged that bullet.
CSK Fan Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Pak are the best T20 team and favourites this time around too. But having Afridi as a full time captain might backfire
coffee_rules Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 -> subject Pakistan has ability to defend T20 WC title's Butt

Indianfan_Hyd Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 king2be98 In ur OP, there are lots of Indo-Pak same same... from your point of view its nt same-same For eg: Only Indians are trashing Paki T20 team, not Pakistanis. Dont be diplomatic....leave that to our media and politicians
Roshanrocks Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I think you fired that bullet on your own with the muzzle pointed the wrong way and still failed to hit ... you can try again though :--D :two_thumbs_up: kitna easy hai na in logonko pehchaan na

king2be98 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 16.1 Dude this was first IPL. In the IPL Umar Gul would have been eaten alive by Uthappas, Tiwarys and so many other batsmen. They didn't spare any bowlers. Gul has been thrashed by every tom dick and harry in recent times not to mention Gul is Gambhir's biatch. :hysterical: This is yet another stupid post, we're talking about the WC, Gul's performances in the world cup not in the IPL. In IPL I Gul did get battered at times, but in both the WCs and in T20s overall his record is incredible. That is where it matters, on the big stage and not some domestic commercial festival. Gul does get pasted now and then, but in T20 cricket he stands head and shoulders above everyone else. Uthappa vs Umar Gul's yorkers, erm let me see, who do you think would win this battle? In fact anyoen vs Gul's inswinging yorkers, who would win? Albie Morkel, one of the cleanest strikers of a cricket ball in the world, could not get under a single Gul ball, Ross Taylor is another, could not get under a single Gul yorker. If he bowls 4 overs of relentless yorkers as we expect and know he can, they won't go for many more than 6 an over.
