EnterTheVoid Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I use the term 'Legend' very loosely here but on what basis is this under achieving cheat disproportionately glorified as a hero ?
Ahmed Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 He is a living legend! -He has the fastest century in ODI. The only guy who can beat this record is none other than himself. -He has also a 45-ball century where he smashed the rubbish Indian bowlers all over the park. - He was named man of the the first World T20. - He was Pakistan's leading player in the last World T20 where we won. - He is Boom boom Afridi - He is one of the best spinners in world at the moment. - He has the second most sixes in ODIs - He has fans everywhere in world, if there is Cricket's answer to David Beckham, it is Afridi! ++++++ what more do you want?
satyam1729 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 if there is Cricket's answer to David Beckham, it is Afridi! This has to be the height of delusion and effect of drugs:giggle::giggle::giggle::haha::haha::haha::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Time Magazine on Sachin Tendulkar`s Journey When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam. When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy. It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and we never will. And you call a pitch dancer and ball smeller a legend :haha::haha::haha:
Ahmed Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 You poor guys, you have to bring in Sachin in every case. Go to every corner in world and ask any kid about Maradona, Messi and he will tell you about them. Come to Norway and ask a norwegian about Sachin. Sachin who will they answer. Ok, sachin is a legend, no one is doublting that, but he is nothing compared to Maradona!

On one hand you make a statement like druggie that " Afridi is Beckham of cricket" and on other hand you are telling me i am a poor guys. In only one country a player who doesn't play test cricket, averages 23 with bat and 35 with ball in ODI can be called a legend. He is worse than Yuvraj singh and no one in his right mind calls Yuvraj a legend.
Sooda Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Tis but a spelling error. They meaneth not Legend. Le G@@nd.
Aaku Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 - He has fans everywhere in world, if there is Cricket's answer to David Beckham, it is Afridi! :hysterical:
vvvslaxman Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 One reason i think of is "First idiot to bite the cricket ball infront of millions of cameras"
EnterTheVoid Posted April 11, 2010 Author Posted April 11, 2010 Why even open this thread?:dontknow: In the lead up to the T20 WC, forget the Pak press but media from other countries, they give his underachiever more credit than he deserves. I want to know why.

satyam1729 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Shastri calls Afreatrd "Boom Boom". Even the Aussie commentators during the 9 - 0 drubbing kept mouthing platitudes. Why ? Because he was the only decent player in a bunch of average players. Well what about this http://thatscricket.oneindia.in/news/2005/04/19/1904wooly.html

satyam1729 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Really disappointed in CricInfo's coverage' date=' they keep referring to that ret@rd as "mercurial"[/quote'] Well cricinfo also called Yousuf a class batsman despite his average outside Pakistan is 42 in test.
EnterTheVoid Posted April 11, 2010 Author Posted April 11, 2010 They can't print retard. That will be politically incorrect and other retards will sue cricinfo :winky:. Shyte with the ball, even shytter with the bat, so why the hype ? In Australia, the commentators kept lavishing praises as if they were under some obligation to congratulate him And where did this B.S. nickname of "BEAST" come from ? There are at least half a dozen blind sloggers better than him. Well cricinfo also called Yousuf a class batsman despite his average outside Pakistan is 42 in test. MOFO is the biggest bully of minnows. That guy won't hold a candle to the players P@kis compare him to.
