He is not wrong, like he is saying why was there no tax for 3 IPL, I could also ask, why did they not think about that for 3 IPL. why only now?
Because he was under the impression that IPL existed for the good of cricket. Only when watching Burkha Dutt on NDTV last week that he realised that it is not so.

Franchises planning to seize control of IPL!!

IPL team-owners don't want Shashank Manohar? NDTV Correspondent , Wednesday April 21, 2010, New Delhi The stage seems to be set for a fight over who will take over from Lalit Modi. While BCCI chief Shashank Manohar is Sharad Pawar's choice, some of the IPL team-owners apparently think otherwise. NDTV has learnt that they don't believe Manohar can run the IPL like Lalit Modi. So they have their own plan in place. If Modi does go, they will propose to the IPL Governing Council that: IPL franchises will nominate one of their own to be appointed as IPL Commissioner on a rotation basis for a period of two years The Vice Chairman of IPL would be a person nominated by the BCCI The Governing council should be controlled by the BCCI with Modi as a member

The buzz is that N Srinivasan will be nominated as the IPL chairman. He is a franchise owner and a successful businessman. Arun Jaitley to head the internal BCCI enquiry committee; if Modi is found to be innocent of the charges then he will be inducted back in to the governing council.

I-T raids on firms handling IPL broadcast rights CNN-IBN Posted on Apr 21, 2010 at 09:36 Mumbai: Income Tax officials have raided the Mumbai offices of Multi Screen Media and World Sports Group that handle Indian Premier League (IPL) broadcast rights. World Sports Group is facing allegation that it received $ 80 million as facilitation fee for IPL broadcast rights from Multi Screen Media. But the company claimed on Tuesday that it had done no wrong and would take appropriate action to uphold its reputation. "Any allegation that World Sports Group has used any funds received in connection with its sub-licence of these rights for inappropriate or unlawful activities is completely unfounded and without substance," World Sports Group said in a statement in response to media queries. There were reports that World Sports Group, which holds IPL's overseas rights, owed $ 2.5 million to Modi Entertainment Network, and it was given rights at favourable terms by IPL commissioner Lalit Modi for settling old dues. Strongly refuting any "impropriety" in relation to these matters, WSG said it had acquired media rights for IPL in January 2008 for 10 years following public tender process. Sources say the I-T officials will also knock on IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi's doors as well on Friday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been putting pressure on Modi to answer the 10 questions the I-T department has posed to the cricket board. Modi and four IPL teams are also under the Enforcement Directorate's scanner, which is investigating the source of funds allegedly routed from abroad. Meanwhile, the Central Excise Department has asked five players of Kings XI Punjab, including Yuvraj Singh, to furnish details of the payment received from the IPL franchise. "We have sought details from players to furnish details regarding the payment they have received from the franchise," a senior official of Central Excise department has been quoted as saying by the PTI. The department has already sent a notice to the owners of Kings XI Punjab on payment of service tax.

NDTV saying that Modi landed from Dubai and flew directly to Delhi to meet Pawar and Modi might resign as IPL commissioner after the final.
No, Modi stayed in Mumbai. He was supposed to meet Pawar in Delhi y'day but he did not.

Very much expected. No one likes Shashank Manohar & people completely detest Srinivasan, who has been pwned to epic proportions by 7 franchise owners in unison with Modi - IPL franchises protest IMG removal. And yes, they made the BCCI reverse their decision. 7 franchises did something that doesn't happen even at ICC meetings involving boards. This goes on to show how important they are for the BCCI. The key to IPLs success has been Modi's equation with the owners. Right now, only Mallya & Sahara have spoken out. But many will follow suit coz its going to be difficult for them to tolerate ancient ways of governance. If Modi goes, IPL is finished.

BalaSaheb "Sab kuch H4ter " wants IPL canceled

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has said that IPL matches should be cancelled to "save" cricket and their source of the funding be probed. "The undressing of cricket in the ongoing Lalit Modi-Shashi Tharoor row is a matter of concern," Thackeray said in a statement in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna' on Wednesday. All this is going on for money, Thackeray alleged and demanded a probe against all cricketers involved. The Sena chief also said that he was "sad to see Mumbai Indians losing against KKR after eight to 10 consecutive wins. "How can the team lose? How can important players remain absent?" he asked. "It is a given that victory and defeat are a part of the game. However, there is reason to doubt if the game result is not at the behest of bookies," Thackeray said. "It should be probed from where do industrialists and people like actor Shah Rukh Khan bring in the money to buy IPL teams," he said. "If the government has an iota of shame, it should immediately cancel IPL matches and save cricket," Thackeray added.
He think :mi: lost deliberately to KKR
