So, what was Kohli thinking?

Whats with all the hate? The batsmen nicked it, turned around to see the keeper collecting the ball reasonably close to the ground and stood his ground and waited for the umpire's decision. Whats wrong with that? Sure the camera replays show that the catch was absolutely clean, but how do any of you know at what point Kohli got to see the catch being taken? Maybe his reaction was delayed to the point where he didnt get to see the action until the gloves were really close to the ground and that influenced his decision to stand his ground. A batsmen is well within its rights to stand his ground and get his doubts clarified, as long as he accepts the umpires 'final' decision, which Kohli did without further fuss/ado. Once he was given out after the third-umpire's consultation, he promptly walked off and didnt show any signs of dissent/disrespect. Now, if he had stood his ground AFTER the third-umpire's decision and made funny faces then that's clearly a different thing and wrong. But standing your ground to get your doubts clarified? Thats absolutely 100% justifiable. No offence to anyone specific here, but generally what happens is that if something weird happens on a cricket field, someone will open a thread bashing that player, which is then unfailingly followed by a whole host people following up with their own version of rants/ramblings, without even taking the time to independently analyze situation. So much for free thinking...

Pollard is all over Bangalore! And Kohli is not walking. Umpires consult with the third umpire, and the replays show it was caught about a foot off the ground. It was a slower ball that he looked to run to third man, but the pace variation did him in Infact kohli is int he best position to tell if he is out, he is not a noob- played a lotta cricket Watch the Video, Kohli sees it so well he has time to look away

Obviously Kohli's actions are deemed to unprofessional and he ought to be fined for this. But this is where all the criticisms have to stop. FFS, the kid's 19 year old and he's still feeling his way in international cricket so give him a break. One's attitude does not change overnight and it will take time for him to get those 'i don't give a f.k' tantrums out of his game.

Well Kohli did all that because he couldn't believe that he has done a isshtupidish thing, to get caught by a keeper on a slower ball trying to run that down to third man.He was very upset with his shot selection, but he thought for a moment that lets try another replay, may be something like a miracle could save me. But it was not to be :headshake: Now on a serious note, Pressure should not take over the general ethics of Cricket from a Gentleman, so that was a very bad gesture from Kohli, i know it was a S/F so what, you still should have walked

Unfortunately, Virat didn't have the luxury of a replay, which the commentators did. It happened in a split second. He was right for having doubt in his mind and the umpire made the call. He infact saw the replay on the bigscreen confirming the catch, removed his gloves and asked the umpire if he should start walking. Umpire raised finger and nodded.
