Sachinism Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Then you might like The Counterfeiters and The lives of others (even though it is the aftermath of WWII). Got both of them downloaded, but never could get round to watching them Started The lives of Others, watched quite a bit of it, but it was pretty slow and then just switched it off and never got back to it
Don Sharma Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 There are many good WAR movies but nothing beats Apocalypse Now. Marlon Brando's character Col. Walter Kurtz is one of those epic ones in Hollywood cinema.

youngindia Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Then you might like The Counterfeiters and The lives of others (even though it is the aftermath of WWII). counterfeiters is a holocaust movie but "lives of others" is n't. "lives of others" is more about communist regime in east germany. but holocaust was entirely perpetrated by the nazi regime. if you are talkin about a post ww2 movie related to holocaust, there is "odessa file"(based on forsyth's novel.) , "marathon man" ,"the reader"and some movies were made related to capture of eichmann famous english holocaust movies include "the pianist","diary of anne frank", "escape from sobibor"(made for tv),"sophie's choice","grey zone","triumph of the spirit" andmaybe defiance since the kielski brothers were jew. there is a made for tv series "war and remembrance",sequel to popular novel "winds of war",.. europeans have made a lot more classics on this topic that is known to only those who bothered to watch non english films.there are the czech classics "the shop on main street","divided we fall". german films like "europa europa","amen","gloomy sunday",french "au revoir les enfants","mr klein" and others like "good evening mr wallenberg","korczak" there are veen comedy films like "life is beautiful" and "jakob the liar"
Zelig Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 I have seen Marathon Man, The Reader and life is beautiful. I liked Marathon Man outta the three..great performance by Dusty Hoffman.
Anonymous Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Just watched The Hangover. Watch out for Zach Galifianakis aka fat jesus. Damn funny, sometimes offensive. There were a group of oldies sitting right in front of me (dont know why they chose to this pic) and it was damn amusing to watch them react to that baby fapping scene...:haha::hysterical::hysterical:

DomainK Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Revolutionary road- a tale of two idiots married to each other. Its a movie about what happens when two retards produce off springs in matrimony.

Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Jashan - couldnt watch it for more than 17 mins :((
Zelig Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Anger Management - Not brilliant but good time-pass. This movie is a bit different from the usual Adam Sandler film - the protagonist is a poor guy who suddenly becomes rich, gets screwed by the villain and finally a happy ending.
Sooda Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I watched The Taking of Pelham 123 - it was ok really, nothing amazing. The two leads make it a decent-ish film. The only reason we watched it was because we were late for Public Enemies and the frigging cinema wouldnt let us in:whack:
