apocalypse Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 yea here in US one channel has showed atleast 20 times in 2007 only :D
Lurker Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 ^^ Yeah I got tired of watching the reruns of Goodfellas. In early 2000s I was deep into mafia movies. Read tons of books on the subject back then. If any of you are into mafia movies try the following ones: Godfather(no brainer) Goodfellas(no brainer again) Donny Brasco(terrific) Casino(so so movie but very close to true life) Once Upon a Time in America(Superb movie, very underrated.) Untouchables(spicy masala movie but good watch) A Bronx Tale(very different mafia movie, good watch) Lanksy(spicy masala but covers good ground) Hoodlum(fun fun fun movie...) Billy Bathgate(underrated again, watch it for Bruce Willis and Nicole Kidman's full frontal errrrrr).
coffee_rules Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Good Shepherd - First time director De Niro excels. A fictional story about CIA. Damon is very good. Spidey 3 - is worse than a Ekta Kapoor TV soap. Hoax - so-so..not so good.

Road to Peredition (Hanks and Jude Law) Raging Bull (De Niro) Scarface (loud, bollywoodish..)
Lurker Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 ^^ oh yes Road to Perdition is excellent. I kinda like Scarface too...wait a minute I am confusing it with Serpico. Scarface "Say Hello to my little friend" was a bit over the top for me. Hows Good Shepherd Coffee?
coffee_rules Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 ^^ oh yes Road to Perdition is excellent. I kinda like Scarface too...wait a minute I am confusing it with Serpico. Scarface "Say Hello to my little friend" was a bit over the top for me. Hows Good Shepherd Coffee? Serpico ...was good too. Pacino was a great actor. GS was one of the better Hollywood movies I have seen in recent times. I stopped seeing Blockbuster movies. Watched Spidey 3 and my resolve is stronger. I hate them more than SRK movies. I was impressed with De Niro's direction. Not flawless. But still engrossing. Covers the US national events from WW-II until 1961 about how CIA became what it is now. Tries to run 2 events (flash-back and present) parallely. It made an interesting viewing. It is a fictional piece, with everybody acting well. I was feeling like I was watching a movie made by Martin Scorcese.
THX_1138 Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 just finished night watch and day watch back to back... two of most underrated action movies of the past decade. easily at par with the matrix trilogy.
Rajiv Posted December 13, 2007 Author Posted December 13, 2007 Backpan ke din ( Childhood Memories ) http://imdb.com/title/tt0215907/ Kitaab - Anyone remember it
apocalypse Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 dint kitaab created a bit of uproar during that time due to its subject?
maggot_brain Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Snatch is a terrific movie BB' date=' loved it. :two_thumbs_up:[/quote'] Lock Stock and Snatch are both shocking films. There's a reason Guy Ritchie is called a 'mockney' here in the UK.
suma25 Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Lock Stock and Snatch are both shocking films. There's a reason Guy Ritchie is called a 'mockney' here in the UK. there is nothing remotely shocking about those two movies . best stylishly made cult movies- definitely yes. shocking movies - hell no
THX_1138 Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 sexy sorority sluts 9.... its made naughty nurses 4 look like dirty whores 2.
Lurker Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Backpan ke din ( Childhood Memories ) http://imdb.com/title/tt0215907/ Kitaab - Anyone remember it I remember it very vaguely. One of Gulzaar's classics of course. These days it is in my minds thanks to its song - Master ji ki aayee chithi. Gulzar's movies of 70s would most likely be considered the classics in Hindi movie all time list. My personal favorite of the era is his Jaya Bhaduri/Sanjeev Kumar's Koshish. Of course Mausam, Aandhi, Parichay, Kinaara, Ijazat are all wonderful movies too. Apo, what was the controversy with regards to Kitaab?
apocalypse Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 From Imdb: This movie effectively captures the thinking of young children and their fantasies of the grown. Childhood can be a bliss but in todays hectic world children are often exposed to the realities of adulthood. This is funny yet sensitive story of a child and his sister who works as a Model in an Ad Agency. I dont remember it now. Saw it long time back
Lurker Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 ^^ Yeah I cant remember what was controversial about the movie. Will try to find this movie online. The only controversy, if you can call it that, would probably be due to its song - Dhanno ki aankhon mein raat ka soorma aur chaand ka chooma.
