yoda Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Christians believe that their GOD and their path is the only way and followers of all other religion are essentially on the side of Satan. Add to that the vulnerability of the poor who are looking for any kind of help, you have conversion for money.

Our constitution allows it. And if the hindus convert, for whatever reason(even for money, etc), its proves trhat their faith in hinduism wasnt strong enough. they are free to convert.

What do you mean by target? If you mean conversion by anything else EXCEPT FORCE then they have right to do so. I hardly believe in much religion and am a Muslim who has studied throughout his childhood in Christian missionary school. But I have seen the missionaries for 12 years of my life as I studied in school. And I dare say they are some of the best people on earth. I have seen a few Hindus and Muslims converting especially the poor but none of them are by force. They were given good life by those missionaries and helped and cared like their own children etc. I dont take the crap that any Christian missionary is forcefully converting anyone. The conversion they do is purely democratic and legal and I dont see any problem with that. Those people who convert are so poor that they hardly followed their respective religion Hinduism or Islam even before conversion. And I will also dare say that some Christian missionaries are the best people on earth. Mother Terersa and her Missionaries of Charity was a prime example who thought and took care of the poor when no normal Indian even thought of doing so. And to tell the truth, none of the rich people including the Ambanis or the Mittals think of the poor and even we normal Indians who are living luxurious lives (maybe we are the Ambanis compared to those guys who cannot even afford to eat a meal a day and die of hunger) and discussing on internet forums do not do anything much for the poor. Let me ask you a frank question. Will you start starving yourself to serve the poor or will you give up your whole life and family to serve the poor. For 99% of us it is a NO and that is a fact. But that is what these missionaries have been doing since ages. They are preaching their religion and helping the poor and I have no problem with it unless they are forcing somebody to follow their religion. Anyways I dont give much crap about religion and I dont see what difference it makes if the poor people changes religions. At least they are changing religions guided by people who are actually helping them instead of selfish people like the rest of us. I have personally heard this crap pf Christians missionaries targeting Hindus and Muslims but it is nothing except crap and I can say that from my personal experience.

This can be attributed to strength of Hinduism and fierce resistance from orthodox islam. When the faith fails, economic aspects come in.Xtian missionaries promise a daily pay and good food if the subjects convert.
