Dinx - the Jinx Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I know I'm going to get a lot of brick bats for dragging you (Sachin) into this fiasco.. But I'm sure you yourself might be feeling that you should have helped the team by making yourself available for this year's tournament. You should have played considering 1. that you were / are in such tremendous form in the IPL, providing such brilliant starts and dragging the team of rookies along. Not just T20 or IPL, you have been in the second best form of his life (next only to the sublime form in 1998) 2. that Sehwag was out with injury and Gauti was nowhere near his best form, you should have put your hands up and said, I'll wear my pads 3. that your mere presence at the crease would have sent shivers in the opposition dressing room. And you are the only one who could have provided the steady starts and much needed stability to the batting order, which was lacking at the top. What if you have decided 3 years ago that you dont want to play this form of the game anymore? You could have made a come back. Dint your good friend Schumi start racing again? When lesser mortals are retiring from test cricket to concentrate on ODIs and T20s, you decided to retire from T20s to concentrate on longer formats? Is T20 going to take so much out of you? Is that something that you cant handle in order to give us Indians the joy of winning a WC (doesn't matter what format, winning WC is always sweet). I have been bashing Dhoni around for sticking to his stupid tactics and not learning from his mistakes. He's been letting his team down just to prove a point by sticking to his tactics... Dont you feel you are also letting us down by sticking to your decision of standing down from T20s? Please change your decision.. I'm not sure when the next tournament is - but if you are still around playing, I'll be mighty upset if you still dont play... - A sobbing Indian Cricket Fan
Gunner_Mania Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 How much more longer? How many more years are you going to keep asking him to save us?
Dinx - the Jinx Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 How much more longer? How many more years are you going to keep asking him to save us? we all know Sachin is not going to play forever.. but atleast when is he is around, he should be playing all forms of the game... atleast the important ones... now we cant say T20WC is not important, can we?
Dinx - the Jinx Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 :fail: He is injured. his decision to not play was not due to injury..
Sachinism Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 we all know Sachin is not going to play forever.. but atleast when is he is around' date=' he should be playing all forms of the game... [b']atleast the important ones... now we cant say T20WC is not important, can we? Exactly T20's are irrelevant
ViruRulez Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 we all know Sachin is not going to play forever.. but atleast when is he is around, he should be playing all forms of the game... atleast the important ones... now we cant say T20WC is not important, can we? T20 is absolute crap to be frank .. I dont believe in this format nowadays .. I would like other players to develop their skills instead of Sachin saving our ass each time
ViruRulez Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 To be frank one of the main reason why we are good in tests right now is because of the trio Sachin, Dravid and Laxman rather than the others .. I would say our test team miles ahead of our ODI team and the ODI team is miles ahead of our Tontee-Tontee team
Dinx - the Jinx Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 ^^ I dont think so Sachinism... tomorrow's generation is going to have a lot of T20s. It may seem irrelevant now but after 3 or 4 decades, ppl will be known for their T20 achievements. when the ODIs started, did the countries around the world think its irrelevant. the west indies took to it quickly and won back to back WCs. only losers like India would have thought ODI WC is irrelevant.. my point is, we cant any sport that a national team plays as irrelevant. sport like F1, ATP tennis, franchisee based tournaments like IPL can be irrelevant. But even there Sachin doesnt mind playing a gruelling 7 weeks IPL but not ready to play a 2 and half week T20WC. Thats where it hurts
zen Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 The focus for Sachin should be to prolong his test career. One way to do that is to pick and chose games and format. By doing that he is also making sure that his body has enough time to rejuvenate and that he is giving himself less chances of getting injured or picking up a career threatening injury There was a need for him to prioritize, which is what he is doing now. Feel bad for the sobbing Indian fans that they fail to realize this simple fact.

mastana Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Since India started sucking at it? :giggle: T20 is a fun game - Legend Younis Khan :dontknow:

zubinpepsi Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 then what business he has playing in IPL for 7 weeks and not playing T20WC for just 2.5 weeks? This.. I dont think anyone can justify playing IPL for 7 weeks and ditching the country for the worldcup which is just 2 weeks.. and all intotal 7 matches..
zubinpepsi Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 The BCCI babus issued a diktat. wow.. how scary... BCCI issued a diktat... sachin's career will be over if he dint follow BCCI's order.. duh...
Gunner_Mania Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 DOn't you want rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Ganguly also to play this format? Surely Anil Kumble can bowl better than Jadeja. Dravid & Ganguly can bat better than the YuYus
Deleted_User_1 Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 forget it......we can't have him or Dravid or Laxman to save our sorry asses. They will retire someday and India will be a bottom feeder for a while. Our bowling already lacks any bite. Zak is not a trundler and although he makes up for it by experience and some guile, his fitness is on the decline (maybe needs to hit the gym and cut down on his drinking), i do not see him in a couple years time. He is on his last leg.
Dinx - the Jinx Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 The BCCI babus issued a diktat. do you really think Sachin can be dictated?
