Indians arent suited to play 20/20 cricket

*bump* the bcci by forcing indians to adjust to 20/20 killed our team in tests and we lost 8 away tests in a row. also in 20/20, we have always sucked (except for a freak 20/20 wc win in 2007)

Heck...they play throughout the IPL with broken bones also if needed. They magically learn how to dive on Indian ubar-khabar grounds & save runs without caring for a scratch. Not to mention these same players realize winning is important....wonder why...because if they dont win & qualify for CL..then they are not paid the whole amount of money they got sold in the auction. Just hoping that in this year IPL...rain gods washed out atleast 75% of the matches

True that. I guess the difference is that IPL franchises hold players accountable for their performances. In IPL someone like Dravid can't keep on playing for B'lore Royal Challengers forever without contributing. In IPL VVS doesn't get to pick his own sweet time to retire and is benched when he doesn't perform. I am sure if BCCI acted the same way as IPL franchises you will see different results.

just play the top performers from IPL in t20Is and we might do well, how many of from todays playing 11 played well in last IPL

Anyway T20 should be only for Franchise tournaments, not for International Matches. Its time BCCI put a stop to all International T20 matches. For the time being that will do. Test cricket can be tackled at a later date. Eventually only ODI (50 overs) should be real Kirkut. Its time BCCI flexed its muscle.:winky:

And there it is.... the nail and the head and you hit it.... This is the core reason for issues with indian cricket IMO.... Coach, BCCI, IPL are just noise and excuses, at the end of the day, none of the other excuses hold the bat or the ball out on the ground, none of these make the decision on the ground, it is the players that do and they have the first and major responsibility... BCCI help by dropping players for form (i.e. Hadin, Marsh)

I don't think we are gonna do anything in the T20 Cup later this year which will be held in SL.

Because we do not have a suitable T20 teams. Other teams have learned and improved and have created separate T20 teams. Selectors expect Gambhir, Kohli, Jaddu etc. to become T20 players which they are not. You need batsmen who can come and hit from ball one in T20 and also can consolidate. There is only Raina who can start hitting from ball one right now. Otherwise, Yuvraaj, Uthappa, Yusuf are such batsmen. Dhoni can score quickly too but he takes some time to launch and consolidate a lot in the beginning and wastes too many balls. I will open with Yusuf in T20 especially as T20 WC is being played in SL. Sehwag Yusuf Rohit/Kohli Yuvraaj Raina Uthappa This should be the top 6 batting in T20 for India.
