Eng have reached the final without any problems so far, Aussies have struggled in at least 3 matches (vs BD, SL and yday). So that ways, Eng have an equal chance vs the Aussies. In fact for me, Eng are the favorites looking at the way they have played.

England Australia they know each other very well. They have seen enough of most of the players over the years. So both teams will come out with good plans. May not be emotional like India/Pakistan final where you can see lot of mediocre stuffs out of pressure. Quality of cricket is expected to be higher. With all the drama it could very well end up being an one-sided affair. But i hope it is a tight contest.

England stand a good chance against Australia, although Australia may be the favorites. Lumb and Kieswetter provide a stable yet attacking opening option. While they have provided momentum and stable starts to the innings, neither has gone on to make big scores like Warner and Watson. On another note, some of the teams have tested Lumb by opening the bowling with a spinner. So take your pick : medium quick scores vs big and game turning knocks. Pietersen/ David Hussey? Pietersen has been very busy in the tournament and keeps the momentum going set up by the openers. His role is more important to England's success than of Hussey. Weak links : Clarke and Collingwood although Collingwood has been better than Clarke Mike Hussey/Cameron White vs Morgan/Wright Both have finished and rescued their teams in difficult scenarios. Cameron/Hussey duo may provide more punch on paper but both have been prolific. Morgan/Wright did well to maintain pressure and finish it against West Indies, and even against Ireland provided grit and resistance when the team was in trouble against Ireland. But Hussey/White's knocks have been more influential and devastating so again Hussey/White duo get the advantage. Aussies have a slight advantage in their batting but its a team game and anything can happen especially in a final. I would like England to beat the Aussies.

Re: the OP, I think there is no doubt that England have a very balanced team which can on a given day challenge the best. But the problem is that this is a WC final and English doesn't have the reputation to shine on such big days. :dontknow:

Well they rarely get to these stages to even forge any sort of reputation :giggle: This is only their second final of any ICC event since 1992.

So Bangladesh > other subcontinent teams. This is bangladesh logic .

touted as the ashes t20, the english players would be charged up against their arch rivals, and can be a dangerous side though the ozzies have looked a class apart, england should be able to give them a fight, but will probably go down in vain
