Naah. Will continue to score runs in tests and ODIs. Had been playing non stop for last 2 years, so the form had to taper off. But like all good players he will soon be back. ' Ditto for DIlshan too.

Agreed, but he justified his test place with some sterling performances. He has done nothing to get dropped from tests, or ODIs. Maybe T20is, but seriously won't mind.

Whenever a batsman bats well and then subsequently loses form temporarily, someone or else would stand up and point a finger with the same accusation made in the OP. Everyone knows that no batsman bats with the same success throughout his career and still these accusations keep coming. Gambhir has proved himself enough and he is bound to go through some bad phases in his career.

Gauti's too good a player not to bounce back quickly, he rightly commands his place in all formats of the game. I very much doubt this is going to be a pro-longed drought. And anyways, I don't see nobody capable enough to replace him at the top, especially in ODi's and Test.

It was only a few months ago that Gambhir equaled the all time record of most Test fifties in consecutive Tests and fell just one short of the record for consecutive hundreds. He then failed in the first Test against SA, admittedly, but was looking good for a big score in the second before being unfortunately run out. Admittedly his T20 form hasn't been up to scratch for quite some time now (both domestically and internationally), but as long as he can keep his Test form up, don't really care. Besides, as Jadoo says, there is no alternative to him anyways.

Lol, yep. Dilshan's FC avg is 38 while his test avg is 43. he looks like to me a person who punched above his weight during his peak, and is sure to come down to mean. Gambhir on the other hand is a proven domestic player with an avg of 57, and was only a matter of time before he came good at test level. While he may not average in the 60s or even high 50s, a career avg of around 50 when he finishes looks likely. Anything under that he wouldn't have done justice to his talent.

IPL - don't care T20WC - don't care Sachin is not even playing in T20. Wouldn't make him a bad player in Tests or ODIs. Veeru has hardly played any T20 games. Rohit did okay in WCT20 and IPL. That doesn't mean he is gaining form. Ever since Gambhir started playing well in Tests he started losing some potency in shorter versions. Happened in last year world T20 as well. He still did well in Tests.
