ViruRulez Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 This should be the team 1. Sachin 2. Veeru 3. Gauti 4. Yuvi 5. Mahi 6. Raina 7. Jadeja/Ojha/Irfan 8. Harbhajan 9. P Kumar 10.Zaheer 11. Nehra It looks a bit unfair for Rohit not to find a place after such performance but we cannot go with any less than 4 full time bowlers or maybe 5 .. going by history one or a couple of our bowlers would turn crap and wont bowl full 10 overs In the extras, I would select Rohit, Kohli and maybe one of Yadav/Dinda
koksmayu Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 sachin veru gambhir yuvi dhoni raina kohli jadeja harbhajan zaheer pkumar
sreej Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I think V Kohli has done enough to merit a place in the side and should be in the playing XI. Rohit Sharma might have people fooled with his consecutive centuries but I have a bad feeling he's gonna start under-performing against other sides very soon.
ZodiaC Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 1. Sachin 2. Veeru 3. Gauti 4. Yuvi 5. Dhoni 6. Rohit 7. Kohli 8. Harbhajan 9. Nehra 10.Zaheer 11. Ojha 12. Robin Uthappa 13. Raina 14. Saurabh Tiwari/Abhishek Nayar/Rayudu 15. Unadkat/Umesh/Dinda 16. IRFAN PATHAN
SachDan Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I think there's a huge question mark over Sehwag's fitness. Even if he's 'fully fit', will the selectors gamble selecting Viru with him not having any proper match practise? :dontknow:
Gunner_Mania Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I think there's a huge question mark over Sehwag's fitness. asterix Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 I'm pretty sure Bhikhari Jadeja and Rockstar Yusuf will be in the team..Rohit will take another spot. Kohli might lose out unfortunately. Mishra (not fit to play ODIs) will take another spot. Unless Irfan Pathan emulates his brother Yusuf in wearing shades while bowling (Rockstar looks), he doesn't have much chance to make a comeback in the team. Even Jadeja wears shades while bowling and fielding (junior Rockstar). Indian public like their Rockstars to wear shades while bowling (desn't matter if they get thrashes repeatedly)..That's the main reason of their 'success' in staying in the team..
bobbydhillon Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 so funny since b team failed last few post have uv in the team. fickle minded fans:cantstop:
rkt.india Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I dnt know why so many posters picking Jaydev Unadkat in the 15...he is very inexperienced and still a kid and wt i saw in IPL he too was quite ordinary..give him a time in domestic cricket before thinking of him getting selected for Indian team.....thts the reason our talents is wastes....we pick them too early, too easily, just on potential, thts why they do well and then fail forever...coz they were not fully developed...we need to give them time in DOM to work hard be better...we need not to rush every talented and potential cricketer in the team so easily...coz they need to know how hard it is to get India cap bt instead we giving it like a bday prize to every tom, dick, and harry like we did in tri series... Can anyone tell how many of Indian cricketers debuted in Zimbabwe, its 6, 6 players played their first ODI there and some of the players selected in 15 are not made for international cricket and we expected this team to win the series...they were so inexperienced that zimababwe were more experienced then them....some of them were looking like playing of their places in the team and not for the team....some were too young and raw even in FC cricket Look our main 10 players were resting at home.....15 were playing in Zimbabwe and another 15 went to England and in total 40 players...wt kind of planning is this...everything was messed up.....hw can we expect a team of 6 debutantes to win anywhere....it was ridiculous work by selectors
diegovegaz Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 sehwag sachin gambhir kohli raina rohit dhoni uthappa bhajji ojha mishra dinda nehra pk rpsingh this is a capable squad, though definately what we can't expect from cheeka he'd have his eyes on jaddu, yusuf, kaarthick, zaheer and yuvraj
Temujin Khaghan Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 so we will know about it tommorow isnt it... (long sigh.......................)
saneindian Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Sehwag, Yuvraj, Robin, PK all are at NCA. I was hoping that the others including Sachin, Dhoni, Zaheer, Nehra, Gambhir, Bhajji, Irfan, Ishant, Sreesanth, RPS etc would also be called to the NCA for a fitness assessment before deciding who gets chosen. In the WC season and where we play 11 tests and some 20-25 ODIs in next 5-6 months, it is important to ensure anyone carrying slighest of niggles is given time to rest and recuperate. I am particularly worried about Viru, Yuvi and Zak. They had have far too many injuries before important tours or before ICC tournaments which hasn't helped us at all. Unless these 3 are more than 1005 fit, they should not be in the Asia cup squad. It will be better for them to stay at NCA and continue with their fitness improvements programs. Now coming to the squad selection, the key deciisons would be 1. 2 spinners- out of Bhajji, Ojha, Ashwin 3. 4 pacers- out of Nehra, Zaheer, PK, Dinda, Ishant, Sreesanth, Irfan 4. Should there be any reserve keeper? In all likelihood, DK and Naman Ojha will get dropped. And thats where the chances for Uthappa will brighten as he could do be the backup keeper as well. Batting line up will select itself (barring Yuvraj who is al set to get the axe on fitness grounds and rightly so). Batsmen- Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Kohli, Raina, Rohit, Uthappa Keeper- Dhoni Allrounder- Jadeja Pacers- Nehra, Ishant, PK, Irfan/Zaheer (whoever is fully fit) Spinners- Bhajji, Ojha (Though I would love to see Ashwin get an extended run in place of Bhajji)
SachDan Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Times Now reports that Sachin may miss Asia Cup due to injury :( Seems like he hasn't fully recovered yet from the finger injury he suffered during IPL.
Karan114 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 ^ Oh ****. Well, I just hope Veeru and Sachin are fit for the Test series in Lanka starting in just over a month. Not too bothered if they miss this tournament but we need them for what will be a very important Test series.
King Tendulkar Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 My 11 1 Tendulkar 2 Sehwag 3 Gambhir 4 Yuvraj 5 Sharma 6 Dhoni 7 Raina 8 Bhaji 9 Oijha 10 ZK 11 Dinda/Yadav/Sree not sure but want pace Requests No Pathans, No Kaif, No Jadeja, No Nehra!
asterix Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Actually Sachin is not keen to play ODIs yet. Rightly so. The pathetic form of other team members would put pressure on him. Best decision is to leave them to sort it out themselves.
gaurav92 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 What squad do you want for the Asia Cup ? Mine will be : Sachin Tendulkar Virender Sehwag Gautam Gambhir Yuvraj Singh M S Dhoni Virat Kohli Rohit Sharma Suesh Raina Yusuf pathan/Ravindra Jadeja Pragyan Ojha Harbhajan Singh Ashish Nehra Praveen Kumar Zaheer Khan Irfan Pathan But still i think the selectors will go ahead and pick Jadeja over Yusuf anyway or they will pick both of them and scrap Irfan out which to me is a poor decision, i think this guy deserves a chance like any other individual, he will definitely do better than his brother for sure. I have also left out Dinesh Karthik and brought in Virat who has done better than Dinesh in the Tri Series, well both are good players but performance wise Virat stays ahead of Dinesh Karthik for me.
Guest OriginalPrince Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 it wouldn't make any difference at all if the wickets have any bounce in them.
gaurav92 Posted June 7, 2010 Posted June 7, 2010 ^SL wickets are not bouncy They are pretty slow low and tailor made for their Mendis and other "Kwalty" Spinners
