Are you actually judging the pitch on how many runs pakis scored? Didnt you see the lateral movement of the surface? Thats not possible on a flat track.
The pitch really changed and was not as hard in the second innings as it was in the first innings.

Yuvraj scored a century in Karachi test (2006)against Druggie Asif and doped Akhter.

Difficult to judge at this early stage in their careers, but based on what we've seen so far, Umar Akmal for me - averaging nearly 50 in your first six Tests outside the subcontinent is no joke, and he followed up with some exhilarating batting in crunch games in the World T20. He also has a good ODI record. That's not to say Tamim is mediocre - he is a special player himself, and in terms of watching I would actually prefer him. He is developing at quite some rate too, will be genuinely interesting to see how the careers of these two guys pan out in the next two years, both are much superior to the mostly weak upcoming batsmen in their sides and so will have a lot of pressure on their shoulders.

Disagreed. The amount of Lateral movement pakis got in the 2nd innings proves it had a bit of Grass . No team would have folded out for 200 odd against fast bowlers on a flat deck . There was no reverse swing and Spinners had no role to play. Never in my life i 'll accept that was a flat Deck. Indian bowling was pathetic as ever.

On a serious note though, both are talented, but it will be the one with the temperament that will survive. In this short span, there already has talk about Umar faking an injury in support of his brother, on the other hand Tamim played through an injury and wnet on to score a century at Lords.

The pitch was not flaat, but surely not as monstreous as in the first innings. then the skill of the bowlers (Asif and akhtar), the 4th innings pressure of chasing a so big score did India.

Most of the dismissals were behind the stumps and the lateral movement they got in that match from that pitch was too much to believe that the pitch was just another Pakistan track. I havent seen the 'Skill' of your Actor and Asif in geting that much lateral movement in any flat tracks in Pakistan irrespective of Opposition and Innings. So dont ask me to digest that it was just another track in Pakistan.

I like Tamim ' date=' but comparing him with Rohit or Kohli ? :hysterical:[/quote']
I wish India had him. Early days still but he's got the X factor a la Sehwag. Easily the best young batting talent going around.
Yes Tamim is much better than Rohit. Rohit is an over-rated over-weight FTB. And no amount of centuries against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka C is going to change that. Tamim has already been compared to Sehwag, Gambhir, Lara and Greenidge by reputed personalities so you're right no point in comparing him with losers like Rohit and Virat? And how did this thread turn into Umar vs. Yuvraj?

Virat is averaging 50 in one dayers . :finger:

Ofcourse' date=' Sachin and Co will hang around for another decade. Or maybe you've seen supreme batting talent emerge from India that no one else is aware of.[/quote'] Talent comes and goes. Tamim might have already played more tests than Rohit and Virat ever will. Who knows?

FFS why can't people just stay on topic. Its not hard. Tamim vs Umar IMO Tamim is a better batsman. I like the way he plays and I feel he has better shot selection. At times he loses his head and will have a massive swipe, which is something Umar does too often

Tamim is a class on his own... Umer Akmal is B-grade batsman compared to him... dont see the statistics... see who is playing like a champ against better teams in crucial encounters... tamim is always ready to score for his team in crucial encounters. also the commitment... umer akmal has pretended to having an injury whereas tamim played a wonderful knock at lords inspite of a wrist injury... enuf said.

Tamim is in 4th year of international cricket compared to Umar who is in his 1st year. Tamim in 2007 was like Afridi but had now learned to play long innings with experience. Umar will learn with experience too. Umar stryggled against Johnson is Aus but came back to destroy him World Cup was a sign of a great learner.
