Ultimate_Game Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Well we wouldn't have found out vijay was not cut for one day unless he was given a chance isn't it. Now he has been given his chance and like I posted in the match thread' date=' his one day career I think is done and dusted.[/quote'] We learnt enough about Vijay in T20 world cup itself. He only has one hitting zone/shot - the hoick or mow between wide long on and mid-wicket. Other than that across the line shot he has nothing to upset the line and length of the bowlers and can be easily contained. In tests he has luxury of time on his side but not in shorter formats of the game.
Lord Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Frankly i havent seen too much of the match, but I think Ashok Dinda will have a hard time getting into any international side( even the A teams)...I know Saurav would disagree... But Umesh Yadav seems like a very good prospect....needs to learn not to pitch the ball too short but that should not be really hard... lol Dinda has been our best pacer.for all his hype about pace,Umesh has looked pedestrian n Dinda has consistently bowled faser than him.also Yadav doesnt have any variations like Dinda has. i think we should give more chances to Dinda.he should be in the squad for Asia cup
mastana Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Jadeja should only play in ODI's. Vijay deserves more chances. Anyone remember Marvan Attapattu? How he started his international career with couple of zeroes and went on to become a solid opening batsman for Sri Lanka.
King Tendulkar Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Pathan-Both Jadeja Nehra Kaif-Just in case some lunatic brings up nat west final as a reason for his selection!

Atapattu's start to intl cricket was something like 0, 0, 0, 1, 0. Basically he never got in long enough for ppl to see how good or bad a player he was. But Vijay on the other hand has amply demonstrated he can't hack it in shorter formats of the game - case in point his 21 off 56 balls against ZIMBABWE :omg: Guess what he will do against quality attacks such as Aus, Pak, SA etc.
koksmayu Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 v. murli....... make retire him he s sick y.pathan a mithun sreesanth d kartik
King Tendulkar Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 M Vijay is still class. Just had a brain failure in last match!
ZodiaC Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Just because he was out of form in the series, it doesn't mean that Vijays career should end there. But on the other hand, bits and pieces playas like Jaddu, and Yusuf shouldn't be picked despite having an OK series.

ViruRulez Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 vijay is actually a good player but for tests (that too if he is bold enough to face opposition bowlers instead of getting nervous while batting) for ODIs I would say a big NO NO .. his technique is not suited well enough for ODIs .. he is not great in all directions and that is a disadvantage in ODIs as you cannot leave balls which you are not comfortable to you ... in tests he can leave those balls

Texy Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 Dinda has bowled pretty well on flat wickets .....he has been the best bowler out of all the chewtiya bowlers cheeka sent.
Sir john Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 jadeja is good asset to team india except in batting:haha::haha:
