Yeah agree there to a large extent..The point is what kind of agenda the selectors has in mind when they r a selcting a team Is it keeping in mind the WC and hence building a pool of players from there to select from? Is it only winning the next toruney and then builld the nucleus of the WC from it ? Is it investing in a new set of players and see if there is quality good enough to counter the proven performers but currently out of form? Im not sure of what the thinking tradition is with the board and the selectors..But to be fair to them, if they have to put a team on paper, they als have to consider the below 1)They have to be fit 2)Recent performance 3)Balance of the team 4)Opposition and location of the tour I believe that the selectors have done a fair job, as we do not have the access to information which they have and thats the benefit of doubt we need to give them! Lets wait n watch...as long as the process is fine, the rest will take care of itself

Jadeja is in only because Dhoni wants him. Its a shocker that Dhoni doesn't want Uthappa, Sreesanth, Irfan in the team. If he plans to groom this team and dream abt winning the World Cup, he's gotta be out of his mind. Oh wait, IPL parties are responsible for this and Dhoni & Kris did nothing at all !

he has worked hard on increasing his strength to hit the ball more hard and clear......worked on his fitness........he has worked in his keeping.....and he has not played for India in a long time I think....in ODIs he has played 38 matches in most of those he batted in the lower order...and remember he has done well in quite a few matches he played...and he does not have antics like Sreesanth..... I have no problems with Sreesanth..i want him to be good...but in his case u dnt know wt kind of sreesanth will come on the ground....remember the England...after doing well in SA..everyone had lost of hopes that he will be our main weapon there...bt he struggled throughout with his action and run up...remember his no balls then...he had lost the plot...and it has happened many times in his very short career...latest was in Bangladesh...in a test where he lost the plot and we eventually played with 3 bowlers.......thts his main problem...he can be good...u dnt know when...bt u are sure he is gonna create problems fore captain every time he will play........

He bats down the order for a good reason.. He played 13 innings as an opener and 6 innings @ no. 3 position.. And failed miserably..

They are not giving chance to tukka palyers but the pkayers who already know how to play and have made records. Regarding proven performers, they are taking rest, its now time for them just to take retirement rather rest.

Now, on what basis do the selectors pick any of them for the Test series against Sri Lanka and the tri-series involving the hosts and New Zealand? It's easy to always blame selectors, but it's not always right. Why should you pick Irfan Pathan/Rp Singh? They are essentially a very similar version of Praveen Kumar. ALL three are medium pace swing bowlers. So tell me. What's the point in picking FOUR swing bowlers (if you include Zaheer) in a squad when there aren't really swinging conditions anyway? At the most you can pick two swing bowlers. The other problem is the bowlers that do offer something different like Sreesanth or Sharma who relies on his pace/bounce are way off form or just plainly suck right now. You don't just keep picking the same players when it's clear they're in poor form. Especially young bowlers like Sharma who need more experience anyway. The bottom line is selectors can't make Sreesanth a more dedicated bowler with proper work habits and prevent him from being so immature. The Selectors can't make Ishant Sharma focus on just his pace and seam ability through hours upon hours of practice. Only the bowlers can. We don't have a proper bowling coach for the team, we don't have a proper bowling coach for the NCA so instead younger bowlers like Unadkat etc are having to learn from the likes of Wasim Akram during the IPL. I said this before, but the truth is the BCCI and the cricket infrasctructure doesn't deserve a proper hit the deck, all out fast bowler. We had one in Ishant Sharma but they pretty much pushed him to play in every single format in different conditions instead of being patient and developing his talent. That and allowing the IPL to put in bids for over $1million for a 19year old bowler with just a few months of experience. Why should he care about bowling hard for country and practicing countless hours when he could retire now and be richer than his former bowling coach Prasad?
