Texy Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 1st round singles straight sets defeat in Wimbledon She used to rank in the 30s, now ranks 110 something loss after loss and come to think of Indian media still putting her on pedestal... calling her Indian "tennis Ace" She needs to retire, move to Pakistan....
IKnowU Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Did it ever begin? :giggle: She hasnt changed her game or improved one slightest bit since came into the ATP scene.
gaurav92 Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 She is not anymore the Tennis Ace of India :headshake: Mahesh Bhupati and Leander Paes :isalute: They are Lenegedzz
Rajiv Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 She was never a great anyways, was a ok looking modern muslim chick who created headlines, thats all - a new toy for the media I think we should also retire this sania mania as well, as a person, she also wants to have a good life with a husband etc, there's no need to pull these 2 for political reasons.
Nova Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Except for her ( . )( . ).... I think she is overrated. Good to ogle at though :winky:

achilles Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 The only mention about Sania on TV was when I was channel scrolling on my TV. I heard some news anchor talk about her but I changed the channel nonetheless. No one cares about her naaw. She needz some lovezz.
SachDan Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Sania Mirza is the most overrated player in WTA circuit at the moment! Her greatest achievement till date as a singles player is reaching the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament :phehehe: As Rajeev mentioned.. her looks, then coming from a muslim family and also the fact that female players are few in our country all contributed to her apparent fame. She was lucky early in her career breaking in to the first 30's in the rankings. Now she's out of the first 100! if she continues playing, she will reach her real rankings which is around 200.

What has religion to do with anything? What did PT Usha achieve by the way?

veer Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 hmm.. come on guys give some credit.. to come from a muslim family, and go this far is not that easy.. if media has been hyping her, its not her fault.. having said that it was surprising to see her selection in life partner...

achilles Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Yeah. Where is Sunita Rao? That is one heckuva build for an Indian female tennis player... unlike Sania. Update- Sunita Rao is now fancing her chances to play for the Indian Cricket team, all thanks to the Chief Selector of India who is from her zone. Rumour also has it that she will Dhoni's much needed replacement of Matty Hayden in Chennai Super Kings and she has also ordered her own mongoose-
DomainK Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Sania's career may or may not come to an end, but she will continue to be in the news.

vvvslaxman Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I think Sania will soon announce her retirement and cancel it after a week in typical Padosi style. Malik can pass on few tips.
