Technical weaknesses could be worked on, attitude not. Case in point Yuvraj, Ashraful etc.

It’s a good thing most of the peeps here have little to do with cricket administration and team management – you guys would make pathetic selectors/team managers/captains. Sometimes, the levels of animosity in this board towards Yuvraj is startling to say the least. Now I know that’s it’s the general mentality of the population to bash people around. So, if it isn’t Sreesanth’s tantrums or Ishant’s lack of pace, it will be Yuvraj’s lack of performance and excess weight. But for crying out loud, is this how you treat someone who has been among the outstanding performers of this decade in the Indian cricket team? You loved it when he amassed all those runs in ODIs, you were ecstatic when he pulled off that miracle chase in the Natwest trophy, you were overjoyed when helped beat Pakistan in the WC or the multitude of other chases he pulled off with Dhoni. Heck, you were even pleasantly surprised when he partnered Sachin to script that outstanding last day chase against England. But when things go wrong even slightly, even if it is only for a while, all hell breaks loose and its literally no holds barred. They say public is short, but going by some of the reactions here, seems like public memory is non-existent. Not everyone is a Sachin or a Dravid. Not everyone can deliver 100%, every time they step on the field. People go through ups and downs, physically and mentally. Don’t you all have the odd bad day at work? What if you were to be fired for it? The fact is, Yuvraj may yet not cement his place in the Indian test middle order, but for all that he has done to Indian cricket, he at least deserves a chance at redemption. Apart from the odd occasions of test-class batting, his performance in the longer format leaves much to be desired, but if you don’t back a proven talent like Yuvraj, who else would you? If we were to discard every player based on temporary blips in form and fitness, the world of cricket would have missed out on some of the most outstanding performances ever to have been seen.

Yuvi can play ODIs and T20s because he's a sooper player in those formats, just hit a bad patch, but not sure about test cricket, has way too many flaws.
