Swann has been magical, but Harris above Harbhajan :omg: Well Bhajji is not at all in good form but below Harris is something unacceptable because 1. Harris is more of a containing bowler, his main job is to bottle one end up and let others do their bit to take wickets.The wicker=ts he take is a bonus for his team.On the other end Bhajji is our attacking off spinner, we depend on him when we need wickets. 2. Harris is not a big turner, but has some good variation in flight and also gets some extra bounce when pitched in the rough.Not a vicious turner but bounce does most batsman in.On the contrary, Bhajji uses his spin, flight and his doosra, a lot of variations in his armery to trouble the batsman, still he is ineffective 3. Last but not the least, Harris plays most of his matches on Saffie pitches which are green, made for their fast bowlers, so on that note, still above Harbhajan is so,mething very unusual.Bhajji has been gifted with some rank turners and dustbowl, so i think this gives a fair idea of Bhajji's form.

Every bowler goes through poor form. Unfortunately for Bhajji it's usually when we need him against good sides where he ends up sucking.

Harbhajan is a better bowler than Harris. We don't the jobless people at ICC to make us think so. Lets just let them be. And you raise very valid points. I hope ICC actually reads all this and stops embarrassing themselves with their frivolous ratings :two_thumbs_up:

Harris does exactly the job his team asks him to do. sometimes he exceeds his job specification. On the other hand Bhajji does the opposite.

Umm, what you mentioned are the attributes and the differences between the two. ICC does not care about that when gauging the player. #3 point that you mention off, actually puts even more importance to Harris' average of 33 for the past 1 year. Past one year comparison for the two: Harbhajan 33 @ 35 in 8 matches Harris 33 @ 33 in 8 matches So why the difference in ranking ? Well Paul Harris averaged 30 against a highly ranked aussie team and Bhajji on the other hand fared very poorly against Lankans (avg 41) and BD (avg 61 in one game he played them). Harris will further widen the gap if he manages to maintain the average of 28 against us in the 2nd match and if Bhajji is unable to find his rhythm in 2nd test. Of course, Harbhajan is (overall) a better bowler than Harris but these rankings are annual and do not take into consideration about the playing conditions, pitch et al (which they should).

Harbhajan is a better bowler than what he looks like most of the time. Most other bowlers are limited in their skills but give their 100% , cover their weaknesses with hard work and use their brains. Bhajji is talented, but underperforms. I couldnt see this match, but we know that his hesitation in using extra flight usually results in *****y performances. Those fast and flat deliveries are innocuous and totally useless. Though he still is the best we have - unfortunately - I think we should now send him back to sort a few things out in the domestics before taking him back in internationals again.

There are around 50 batsmen playing international cricket, 30 fast bowlers, but around 10 spinners.
