Zap_Brannigan Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 They should teach birth control in medical schools. A baby is concieved by two people. While most people are commenting on ths *****,no one cares to write about that son of a ***** who didn't even have to suffer the excruciating pain and unbelievable humiliation of giving birth in a plane toilet. Maybe because the father of the seed has no control over it, a. This could have very well been a one night stand and she doesn’t know who the father is/nor does the father know about this child, and she waited too long for abortion b. She held on to the child hoping that the guy would marry her but he didn’t c. They had broken up or still in relationship and she wanted to keep the child but she wasn’t brave enough to face her parents and the whole weight of the issue just hit her when she was on plane Ofcourse, there is still a good possibility that he had promised to take care of her but they broke up just before her leaving. We don’t know what happened or why he wasn’t there. The only thing we know is this witch tried to kill and then abandon her baby. The simple truth is if a guy didn’t want a child he would ask the girl to get an abortion and it is a simple measure for him because he doesn’t lose anything. So that puts the onus on the girl who decided not get abortion and to carry the fetus for 9 months. Just like if the guy wanted the baby when the girl doesn’t and then she has the right to abort, if the guy didn’t want but the girl decides to have, then she should carry most (not all) of the responsibilities.
dial_100 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 wow...how come Beets you dont know this... Pregnant mother beyond 36 weeks is not allowed on the plane. Period. Am I missing something???? I will blame airline to allow her to board the plane. What careless and negligent step to allow pregnant woman to travel in the plane and the she delivers there. If she had not signed the papers with Airlines, her parents can sue them.

I think the responsibility for the pregnancy lies with the parents and they should be held responsible for problems created by themselves more than the airlines. There are no hard and fast rules to decide how pregnant a woman is ,based on looks. A lot of women look less pregnant than they are .A friend of mine looked just a little plump well into her ninth month. A little bit of effort with the duppatta or the saree palu and she could pass of as non pregnant person. While I looked like a nine month pregnant whale in my fifth/sixth month:(( If the airlines stopped pregnant women on the basis of looks ,then a lot of pregnant women would be stopped unfairly. In this case the woman obviously didn't want to reveal her pregnancy and managed to do so till the baby decided to pop. Just imagine a world where every fat woman was asked to prove she was not too pregnant. A lot of people would get slapped.

I think it would be fairly siimple for airlines to put the onus on the lady to provide her details. A simple medical report would suffice.

And how do you decide which woman to ask and which not to ask ?How do you tell if the woman is pregnant enough or just a fat woman with a paunch ?:--DTravelling by air is safe for most pregnant women so why should they have to go around with medical reports.Pregnancy is not a medical problem. How about every one having to carry medical reports for severe heart conditions or any condition where it is risky to fly?
Zap_Brannigan Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Of course ...the poor guy! ofcourse, he probably doesn't even know that he has a child or that the child was flushed down the toilet
beetle Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 He had unprotected sex. He had unprotected sex with a stupid person. He should have followed up on it.It was his responsibility too.
Zap_Brannigan Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 He had unprotected sex. He had unprotected sex with a stupid person. He should have followed up on it.It was his responsibility too. They had unprotected sex, most likely (the condom could have broken, the jelly she used maybe didnt work, maybe she forgot to take the pill). It is his responsibility too but did she inform him? Did he get her the morning after pill and she didnt take it? We don't know. My opinion on this is that if you cant take care of a child independently then they shouldn't give birth to it, whether it is a girl or a guy. If they can't, then get it aborted. You have the morning after pills, home pregnancy test, injections that is good for the first few weeks to get it done without pain or surgery. Even if the guy doesnt want the baby, the girl can still give birth and raise the child but if the girl doesn't want it then she could have gotten rid of it easily and painlessly. All the options were at her hands.
beetle Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 true.... But the fact that she did not opt for those shows that there is probably more to the story.Under normal circumstances ,most people in her condition would have opted to end it,specially considering that she comes from a conservative background and considering that being in med school she had the means available. The fact that she chose not to exercise that option probably shows that she expected a better ending for her pregnancy but things didn't work out the way they were planned. It doesn't excuse her criminal ,almost monsterous act.

But we dont know what happened to the guy. I am not arguing for that guy, i am just not blaming him yet.

I'm surprised you have to ask.
Zap_Brannigan Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Its mostly pretty obvious to tell a fat woman from a pregnant one. I'm surprised you have to ask. Its not to me. I have on occasions mistook fat women to be pregnant when giving up seats in subway. After more than one angry stare, these days if i can't guess which one, i just get up and leave as if i am existing the train, so the girl doesnt feel that i got up for her.
beetle Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 May be leaving the child in the toilet where the child would surely be discovered was her way of saving the child. With so many families killing their own children in the name of honour (the news media is fll of stories like these)what chance did the baby have if she took it home. I cannot even begin to understand the nightmare of being in labour and not being able to tell(which was pretty silly) or being able to scream or ask for help. Some one having to go through all this alone ,in a plane has to be the most traumatic experience. She probably was in shock and didn't know what to do?Most women can't walk or do much after going through labour and child birth. How old is this girl ? 19 /20 yrs old? May be she was raped and was to ashamed to ask for help or even let people know.Who knows what really happened. I have heard of school girls delivering babies in school toilets before.
Roshanrocks Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 i wish the girl doesnt login to ICF and read this thread .... ever :((

" An Indian woman gave birth to a baby in the bathroom of an international passenger plane and tried to dispose of it down the toilet, according to media reports in New Delhi. The infant was found stuck in the toilet after the plane landed in Amritsar, northern India, and was rushed to hospital still attached to the toilet bowl, police and doctors told the Press Trust of India news agency."

Heard the baby is still in ICU. There may have been a hundred people to blame in various capacities, but nothing condones the mothers action imo. Surprised at the sympathy she is getting.
beetle Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I am not sympathising ,just trying to guess how something like this could happen. The OP doesn't mention any attempt to kill,it says "left in the toilet". Don't be surprised if you hear news of her being killed by her family now that they know.
