Even before the tour he stated "There was no other choice but me''. You know what is worse? He leaves an inexperienced side high and dry in the middle of a tour No a big deal for Pakistan team, they face it too often and now they are very much used too... Ultimately what’s going to happen is: a new and inexperienced captain (most probably BUTT) is going to replace a new and inexperienced captain. And does Pakistani Cricket work on this principle.. a big NO. If that was the case he should not have been selected as a captain... for even 20/20 or ODIs.. let alone test cricket. I am not sure about his captaincy but his selection in ODIs and T20s is genuine, I am not any fan of Afridi but he definitely not an overall bad choice in ODIs or T20, just totally ignore his batting and still I think he deserve to be part of team even only because of his bowling, he is currently in worlds top 10 bowler and 2nd best all-rounder, and he is not doing too bad as a T20 and ODI captain either. And he knew this based on just 4 days of cricket?? out of which he batted a total of less than 30 mins... then why couldn't he have not known this earlier and not accept the responsibility at all... Ans is there in your own question, had he batted 300 minutes instead of 30 why he would have said "I don’t have test match temperament", now you can ask how he can say this only after 1 test, but tell me its us who can judge his temperament better or he himself? Things like overall performance, method, luck, form can be changed little more often but nature and temperament are there to be remained the same or will take years to change only too little and in Afridi’s case it looks it will never… then why couldn't he have not known this earlier and not accept the responsibility at all... Taking the responsibility was a false decision of him, he admits... Past has gone and now currently sticking with a false decision for long was better to choose or simply confessing your fault with honesty is better?

He quit a 'home' series (whatever the reason). he is not fit to be called a sportsman also.

Not complaining about him quitting but the manner in which he did it - announced it on some radio show and then 5 minutes later when Salman Butt was asked about taking over the captaincy, he did not have a clue about about it. Acted in haste in my opinion.

He still wants to play the next test and further screw up Pakistan's chances..He has just quit from the captaincy as he thinks that it will preserve his brand, boom-boomness and hype..Even if Pakistan loses the next test, atleast he will only be blamed for his performance as a player and not as a captain..Pak fans are used to the team losses in various formats of the game but they will not digest Boom Boom losing them matches after matches. His best chance to keep the passionate fanbase is to win some meaningless Twanty-Twanty mickeymouse matches.. That'll keep the Boom-Boom hype going..

When you pardon a known cheat and ball tampering clown like Afridi then history is only going to repeat itself. Last time he cheated against the Australians. This time he's cheated against his team mates by abandoning them.

He has been doing awesomely well in T20s and ODIs so better stick to that. We will not miss Afridi as a player but we will certainly miss Afridi as a captain in Test.
