Holysmoke Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 First, a chart comparing the total handset industry profits since 2005 1) Apple (light blue), and 2) Everyone else combined (RIM, Nokia, HTC, Sony Ericsson, etc.) And now consider the next shocking chart. Apple will generate 2X as much handset profit as the rest of the industry combined this year DESPITE SELLING ONLY 3% OF THE HANDSETS BY UNIT VOLUME: That's just astounding. The folks at Nokia, RIM, etc., should hang their heads in shame.
gaurav92 Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Apple has to launch some good phones and capture the Phones market.Meanwhile Samsung and others shall also cut out Nokia's close to 70 % share in the market.
Holysmoke Posted July 17, 2010 Author Posted July 17, 2010 Apple has to launch some good phones and capture the Phones market. They are already making more moneys than all the rest of the players in the market combined, selling just 3% of the phones. :nervous:
gaurav92 Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 ^My point was the total share should go up from 3 to say 8-10 % in some years that will just add to their revenue and also stabilize some sales of the other phones that they start producing.
triam Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 doesnt this mean they are way overpriced?? (iphones i mean)
IKnowU Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 Yep Apple just makes those dumbos belive their product is superior even though it lacks few features and is overpriced. Im expecting Apple to halt to a grind to a halt or slow down significantly in the next few years. The apple mania will slowly die down just like any other hype/craze/addiction.
THX_1138 Posted July 17, 2010 Posted July 17, 2010 apple makes the record profits because mindless gnomes will buy whatever the mind of steve jobs regurgitates... yes the iphone was unique when it was first launched, but its use is rather limited. and with this new ipad, its just a money minter.
Clarke Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 The following came out when BMW 1 series was launched. One could easily place the Apple logo instead. And beware, the Android shall strike back.
DomainK Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 When I change my handset, which will be sometime soon, I will switch to iPhone from Nokia.
