murali may be out but we still have to take twenty wickets to win a test,without significant contributions from bhajji and our 2nd spinner that aint happening.the best case scenario for us is a 1-1 draw with us batting first in the test and piling up a massive score which might be enough for ur bowlers to work on.

If Sri Lanka win or draw the game, they remain in contention to displace India, depending on what transpires in the third Test. In the unlikely event of an Indian surprise, the visitors will retain their position, an achievement that will stand out given the limitations they began the tour with.

India's ascent to the top in Tests has been like a man who gave it all and fell apart just when he arrived at the summit. Given the state of our bowling resources and having witnessed their abysmal form in the last Test and bearing in mind how prolific Sri Lankan batsmen are on home turf, I don't see where the optimism is coming from. Cricinfo rightly concluded in their preview article that India had no business losing the last Test and hopefully our batsmen will step up and secure two draws in the remaining matches.

oh please. did you watch the 1st test? sure, sri lanka were a much better side and worthy winners but india had their moments. the replacement seamers showed what they were capable of in that first session on day 3, they bowled well in patches. were people seriously expecting a debutant and a long time absentee to to run through their strong batting lineup ? and most of the batsmen got starts and looked good, but couldn't build partnerships since SL always struck at the right moments. our spnners were the biggest disappointment. a loss is a loss, but to say that there is no reason to be optimistic is just reactionary, knee-jerk bullshit, the kind that is typical od the talentless hacks on cricinfo. even more so when you consider that SL are now in the same position as india with two front line bowlers muralitharan and malinga out.
