punjabi_khota Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 sitting on the couch at home watching the game true. true.
Mamu Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 The T 20 win was nothing, absolutely nothing compared to the 83 WC Win, more so as a kid! After the T20 --> it was like -- oh ok -- we did ! good job boys ! and nothing more ! But the 83 Win -- was surreal ! It was unbelievable ! We beat them -- we really beat -- a team of Lloyd, Richards, Greenidge, Marshall, Holding and Roberts ?? How the feck did we do that ?
Manny_Pacquiao Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 i was at home, scratching my head and thinking to myself "one day, 3 years down the line, some fob is gonna make a thread about this somewhere on the internet. the thread is going to be filled with lots of BS posts and a poll". it turns out i was right about everything but for the poll. dammit.
DomainK Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I was home watching the match with a friend who does not take much interest in cricket. Even he was totally charged up. We had given up all hopes after the generous Jogi baba bowled a few hit me deliveries along with a wide. Then the ball went up in the air and like h4te wrote, almost as if some special effects in a movie, everything went into a slow motion. The back ground noise faded. heartbeats stopped, the nose instinctively stopped breathing and thousand thoughts crossed the mind that seemed to be working too fast in time that seemed frozen. The first thought was if it was going to be a four. Miadad's last ball six visually flashed once in the mind in a split second and then there was the realization that it was not a clean hit. The mind was stunned, hopeless, sad, pained and then hopeful and expectant all in a split second. Live the falling van in "Inception", it seemed a long time by the ball went all the way up and started coming down. Even the commentators were silent. It was only when the ball reached the highest point and started the descent, that Shastri's voice boomed and with it came back the background noise snapping the mind out of the thoughts back into reality. "Up in the air....Sreesanth.....takes it. India win." Yes Shastri. I know exactly how you felt.

Desi Cartman Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 I was on the phone with my best friend and he was it on Free to air while I was watching it on Foxtel, there was a delay of about 5-7 seconds ... So I was jumping up and down even before I saw the ball being bowled :phehehe:

Sachinism Posted July 30, 2010 Posted July 30, 2010 Was at home with family and cousins, packed house, tv on full volume. Mum and aunts making snacks, we watching cricket, eating and screaming It wasn't teh most exciting match when India were batting. Some good hitting at the end lifted the mood. But got quite interesting once we started to bowl Ready to cry when Misbah hit the last ball, but sreesanth popped up out of nowhere and then just went crazy and had a street party outside my house. Then joined the freshpots for celebrations in Southall, good times, good times
