Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 20 years of non-stop dedication towards his team and country and he still needs to prove his loyalty to people like you. Not to me but its amazing how people ignore that he doesnt play ODIs anymore but is playing CL and IPL. He is free to choose whatever he wants to do and of course he doesnt need to prove anything to anyone but then press/fans/selectors shouldnt call the break as "rest".
Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I think he knows best when he needs rest and when he doesn't. Dont forget that he sat out most of IPL1 because he needed rest. Maybe I mistaken but from what I remember he was injured or recovering from an injury and Of course he knows best

Maybe these pointless series have finally lost credibility.......this will be the billionth time india will play sri lanka. At least he chooses skip series that matter the least. CL and IPL have to something decent to play for and where there is something at stake for both the player, team and franchises.

Had he retired from International cricket and took part in these matches, would you have raised a ruckus? That's why I have so admiration for aussie supporters. They stand for their heroes, they realise value of their contributions and they also realise they've a choice. Warne retired in 2007 but is still making his moolah in IPL. Why nobody is targeting him?? Sachin is needed by team India in test cricket and for World cup. Else all is pointless.

Just because I find it weird that he doesnt play ODIs while he will be playing CL Aussies question their skipper for his place in the team if he fails for more than a few test matches. As for warnie , he is free to retire and do what he wants and same applies for SRT even before his retirement. He is a free man and Im not saying he shouldnt be making a certain choice but its not RESTING when he will playing CL

Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 wat would u call it?dropping?backing out?quitting? Those are your words . ... is this what u really think ? I am saying that he is not resting , he has decided to play Franchise ownedToontee Toontee and he is not playing One day Internationals.

I am saying that he is not resting , he has decided to play Franchise ownedToontee Toontee and he is not playing One day Internationals. given a choice,he wont play both.but he doesnt hv a choice in case of Champions League. its not like hes refused to play in WC or something?its just a pointless series where all teams will be playing second string sides.

Yes Lord, but I being a die-hard SRT fan feel a little sad by thinking that he isnt representing India but will be playing franchise cricket in 6 weeks. Maybe he finds t20 easier than ODIs or he thinks CL/IPL > another ODI series ... well anyway there is no question, I felt sad/weird about it so I shared.

Texy Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I like the fact that he is picking and choosing tournaments to represent India....I'm all for it...he needs rest and he should ONLY play the important series I don't like the fact that he doesn't play t20 for India but plays t20 for MI in IPL/CT....I guess money talks even for a player like Tendu
yoda Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I don't like the fact that he doesn't play t20 for India but plays t20 for MI in IPL/CT....I guess money talks even for a player like Tendu I think it is due to the fact that RD, SRT and Ganguly decided to skip the first World T-20 together to give younger players a chance to represent in that format. It would look odd if he alone went back to play now. IPL is a different animal. The entire MI franchise would be much less of an attraction without him, plus everyone is playing there, oldies and newbies.
Robin Hood Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 This was the time for tendulkar to make couple of quick centuries to reach 50 one day hundreds when he is in really good form. He blew it now by resting. Though i hope he still keeps this form when he comes back.
Lord Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 Mahi wudn have done it :headshake: :csk: yeah he only does it for test matches:P
CSK Fan Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 I don't like the fact that he doesn't play t20 for India but plays t20 for MI in IPL/CT....I guess money talks even for a player like Tendu When he stepped aside for the first T20 WC, he said its a format for the youngsters and they should be given a chance. Nothing has changed since then. Its still a format for the youngsters. He is not one to flip flop like MoYo. Even though he has never used the word, he has 'retired' from international T20s and is never going to go back on his descision
Sachinism Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 Sad thing is that he will be playing Champions trophy but has decided to rest for the tri-series :((:((:((:(( Goddy :wall: WTF man I'd rather he play for India than that circus
IKnowU Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 I don't like the fact that he doesn't play t20 for India but plays t20 for MI in IPL/CT....I guess money talks even for a player like Tendu :headshake: Do you really think he plays for money? Hes the face of mumbai so he has to be there to represent it just like India. IPL/CL has a lot of money at stake for the franchises and Im pretty sure god understands that. For those of you who are calling it a circus, stop acting butthurt and accept it that the franchises and its players have to take it seriously. Because once he retires fully from International Cricket Im sure he will also retire completely from IPL as well. Thats why hes carefully balancing all the acts of test, odi and t20/20 at the same time.

I'd prefer that Franchise tontee ontee to meaningless tri series involving Lanka to be very honest.
Sachinism Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 The form he's in, I'd rather he be playing for India, pounding runs than them bloody :mi:
