King Tendulkar Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Love sehwag. But 2nd best indian batter of all time?? Mr Gavaskar and Mr Dravid say hello:friends:
Malcolm Merlyn Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 He iz My Goddy :agree: :headshake: THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD
Chandan Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Iframe: Open in new window Notice that Sehwag has taken just 11 innings to reach from 6000 to 7000 runs.
kabira Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 To give a little bit of perspective .... VVS who started his Test career much earlier than VS and who has played 50 inngs more than VS is just about 200+ runs ahead of VS. BTW when VS debuted in that Blomfontien match Boss crossed 7K runs. Today he was at the other end when VS crossed 7K His Strike Rate is now at 81.62 which is very very close to Gilchrist who has the highest SR of 81.96. He is now in the top 5 as far as batting avg is concerned for openers. He is also just 3K runs short of SMG who has scored the highest no.of runs as opener. Incredible. http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?batting_positionmax1=2;batting_positionval1=batting_position;class=1;filter=advanced;orderby=batting_average;qualmin1=1000;qualval1=runs;template=results;type=batting Another tidbit especially for you. When sachin made his debut. Mithun was in his nappy See even I can pull out tidbits. :--D:--D:--D
Brainfade Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Wish I was still in India watching these 2 greats bat together. What a treat.
kabira Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Except that you copied it from me or from the live commentary :headshake: :P aap karo to chamatkar, hum kare to balatkar. wah
Sachinism Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Iframe: Open in new window Notice that Sehwag has taken just 11 innings to reach from 6000 to 7000 runs. Awesome. Thats like 5 and a half games. sooper
kabira Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 another tidbit, He scored his 1000th boundary when he late cut Angelo Matthews. Thats more than 50% runs in boundary. I haven't counted sixes yet.
siddhu Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 another tidbit, He scored his 1000th boundary when he late cut Angelo Matthews. Thats more than 50% runs in boundary. I haven't counted sixes yet. 1005 fours and 79 sixes = 4494 runs in boundaries... that is approximately 64% in boundaries...

Loved the one where you mentioned Sehwag made his debut in the test when tendlya scored his 7000th run.
putrevus Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 anyone has stat of who is highest run getter since sehwag debuted
Ravi. Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Great achievement by Sehwag. I wonder why he is not consistent in ODI cricket.
ludhianvi Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Remarkable, Great going Veeru. I think the next rung of 8000 runs is <=20 innings away. Hope he gets there as well.
