Lord Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Saurav said what happened to him when he was on 98* once in a test there. as recently as last year in india, Malinga bowled a wide and deprived Sachin an hundred. that atleast must also be Sanga's shenanigan.. as they say, one can fool many people for some time and some people for many time, but not every one, all the time.this wretched guy was whingeing last year when Sachin scored a hundred in the mandatory overs in a drawn test. he wanted the match to be wound up before the mandatory overs and was crying that the umpires and rules did not allow it to be done at the whims and fancies of the fielding captain. loser. which one was that?
thevortex Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I think Sehwag has played enough cricket to recover from this setback. Losing your respect was the last thing he wished for in his career. It's difficult for him now but I'm sure he will recover from this shock and tragedy.. Asterix - I am sure you think you are being funny as well as intelligent. And this hounding at me because you could not really answer the questions posed regarding Hawkeye is not really healthy. This is just information. You can continue if this gives you peace and happiness. I just shared information with the members as to how seriously I viewed that incident by Sehwag. There is always room for disagreement.
Karan114 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 which one was that? http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63944.html
Lord Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63944.html cant make out of that?what exactly hapened?how did they stop him from getting his ton
Rajan Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 which one was that? http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63944.html i think saurav was referring to this match. not sure.read his 'interview' on web today.. http://cricket.rediff.com/report/2010/aug/17/sourav-ganguly-randiv-sehwag-no-ball-dambulla.htm ....Speaking to a television channel on Tuesday, Ganguly said this is not the first time Sri Lanka had done such a thing. They did the same to him in a Test match at Kandy, in 2002, where he was left stranded on 98, he said. "It is not for the first time that Sri Lanka has done this," Dada said. "I can still remember the Kandy Test in 2002 when India won by eight wickets. They did that to me as well. I was batting on 98. They bowled a wide full toss, we won the match and I was stranded on 98. "This has happened in the past as well and I am not sure whether this was required in any format of the game," he added.
Lord Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 ^if they bowled a wide full toss,Kaif should have left it alone.idiot.duno wats wrong in that
Sachinism Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Yeh it looks like Kaif hit the winning runs. can't blame SL for that But they're scum anyway, they've done it on other occasions
achilles Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 The jealously which Sri Lankan cricketers have for us is DESPICABLE. We bail them out all the time and this is what we get? I'm really sure that Sangakarra said and did all the stuff against Yuvi in the IPL this year. That cunning fox!

Reminds me of a test match involving the Kiwis in 1998/99. On the final day, Dravid was batting on 99 and the match could have been called off at that point of time, but Fleming, the then NZ skipper, asked Twose (IIRC) to bowl an extra over so that RD can reach his three figures. :hatsoff: Trying to look "astute" doesn't make one a good captain. Sanga would do well to take a leaf out of Flem's book. P.S.: The 1998 tour was the comeback series of RD and what an outstanding tour he had!

I've read a lot about the wonderful things Flem has done during his career. This one is right up there with the best of instances of sportsmanship in cricket.

Ram Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I think ICC should take the lead of NBA and F1 and have strict ethics enforcement rules. I know that the Lankan board has ordered an inquiry and will take action based on that, but irrespective of that, ICC should take the lead into investigating into this matter. After all, I don’t see how this is any different (from a philosophical stand point) to a player caught cheating on the field. There’s absolutely no place for such incidents on a cricket field whatsoever.
Karan114 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 ‘If you want you can bowl a no-ball’ Dambulla, Aug 17, DHNS: Virender Sehwag’s Delhi Daredevils team-mate Tillakaratne Dilshan is rapidly emerging as the central figure in no-ballgate. Informed sources indicated to Deccan Herald on Tuesday night that Dilshan could have been the one who suggested to Suraj Randiv to send down that massive no-ball which heralded India’s victory on Monday and denied Sehwag a 13th one-day ton by a mere one run. It is learnt that the internal enquiry conducted by team manager Anura Tennekoon has identified Dilshan as being the one who might have asked Randiv to overstep on purpose. The report submitted by Tennekoon to Sri Lanka Cricket is believed to have noted that Dilshan, fielding at cover point, shouted out in Sinhala just before Randiv began his run-up, “If you want to, you can bowl a no-ball.” It may be remembered that shortly after the match had concluded on Monday night, Kumar Sangakkara had not ruled out the possibility of one of the players on the field offering tips to Randiv before that fateful delivery. “If there has been some talk about it on the field before the start of that delivery by other players or maybe a bit of coaxing, I will have to address that very, very strongly in the dressing room,” the Sri Lankan skipper had said. If the report does indict Dilshan, it remains to be seen what sanctions SLC places on a senior and influential member of the side. SLC has already made it clear that it is taking a serious view of the entire incident, as evidenced by its official apology to the Indian team management and to Sehwag specifically. The last has most certainly not been heard of no-ballgate. http://www.deccanherald.com/content/89499/if-you-want-you-can.html
mastana Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Lankan fans are pissing in their pants after Randiv's apology. haha. :hysterical:

Morally, he's made a big mistake.
Rajan Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Dilshan the culprit !!!! http://www.island.lk/index.php?page_cat=article-details&page=article-details&code_title=4655 Rex Clementine reporting from Dambulla The Island reliably learns that it was opening batsman Tillekeratne Dilshan, who suggested to off-spinner Suraj Randiv to ball a no ball in order to deny Indian batsman Virender Sehwag his hundred during Monday’s One-Day International between Sri Lanka and India at the Rangiri Dambulla International Cricket Stadium. With the scores leveled, Randiv bowled a no ball to deny Sehwag a hundred and the ploy was condemned by everyone as it was not within the spirit of the game. Sehwag was left stranded on 99. After extensive investigation, ‘The Island’ confirms that Dilshan, who was fielding at cover point, shouted in Sinhalese saying, (oney nam, no ball ekak danna puluwan), if you want, you can bowl a no ball. None of the Sri Lankan players reacted to Dilshan’s advice to bowl the no ball. Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara speaking at the post match conference gave an indication that someone may have suggested to Randiv to bowl the no ball when he said, "If it was deliberate, I will have to have a chat to him (Suraj) and make sure it doesnhappen again. I will have to see also whether there was any talk about it on the field, prior to that delivery," Sangakkara said. Dilshan had occasionally been vice-captain to Sangakkara and when several senior players were rested for a tri-nation series in Zimbabwe this year was made the captain and went onto lead the side to a series win there. However, after returning home, when Muttiah Muralitharan, then vice-captain of the side, announced his retirement from cricket, Dilshan wasn’t named as the replacement for Muralitharan, although many thought he was the automatic choice. Incidentally, Dilshan and Sehwag are IPL team-mates at Delhi Dear Devils. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- really gets interesting by the minute... the cats are tumbling out of the bag, by the minute! more apolgies expected...
