Yes, Irfan is better than Rohit.. As he is better than Karthik, Sehwag Yuvraj, Raina, who all failed y'day. :P To make a case for or against a player, based on his performance in ONE match is as petty as it gets. :haha: If Rohit fails at no.7, blame Rohit, not the concept of an accomplished bat at no.7. And werent you the part of the crowd that kept saying the only reason why our pacers have higher ER is because they bowled during the initial overs and PP? Now what? :P

Btw, another body blow for the 'Jadeja's in the team for his all-rounder capabilities..' The team for the final did not include him and the management clearly said that if the pitch is dry (meaning there's assistance in it for the spinners), he will play, else they shall play a specialist batsmen. And lo and behold, the mgmt. decided that the pitch wasnt dry enough to play a specialist spinner and Jadeja was dropped and in comes a specialist batsmen. So for for his all-round capabilities. :hysterical:

Yeah, and you clearly missed this part where he segregates Jadeja from the other lower order batsmen :

"In this tournament the lower order looks completely different because you don't have Harbhajan Singh who bats at No.8 and you don't have Zaheer Khan who bats at nine," Dhoni said. "They are two batsmen who can score a few runs. When it comes to the four batsmen who we have right now… they have not been able to score, but it won't be justified to put the blame on them because they are in the side for their bowling and they are doing that job."
See how he clearly says he is not going to blame 8-11 for not scoring runs, but makes no such concessions or exceptions for Jadeja.

Lol, the last time I pasted Dhoni’s quotes were he seems to clearly indicates that even though Jadeja made his way into the team more as a lowe-order batsmen who can roll his arm over and he’d like him to contribute with the bat, he has slowly morphed into a 5th bowler, who gives him good control in the middle overs, you pooh-pooed me saying you don’t read too much into these statements to the media. And here you’re, pasting MSD’s quotes? We can go back and forth on these quotes for a 100 years, but it is OBVIOUS that the team has been steadily losing hope on the abilities of Jadeja the batsmen to deliver, but still kept him in the team for controlled bowling and reliable fielding. But they now seem to have realized the folly of playing such an incapable bat at no.7, which is a good thing. And btw, do you now agree that going in with 3 seamers on sheer flat-beds of pitches is not a good idea? Every time I highlighted the shocking RR of our pacers in our last three home series, the common excuse you guys came up with was ‘Oh, they bowl during the initial overs and power-plays..’ I have comprehensively proven that to be false. Our seamers are more expensive than our spinners, irrespective of what part of the innings they bowl in. And here we have, another multilateral series gone through our grasp, because our batsmen couldn’t bail our bowlers out in a knock-out game. That we have won only 3 multi-lateral ODI series in the last 2 years, even as we have lost only 3 (or maybe 2, I am not sure) bilateral series in the same period, shows how reliant our team has become on our batsmen to win cups for us. Yet, you guys want to persist with the failed strategy of going with a predominantly seam attack.
